If I could give this company a sliver of a star I would. Worst experience ever! We are currently tenants and are dishwasher stopped working properly. We then contacted our landlord who in turn reached out to this company who he has supposedly used for years due to their reliability. After a week of phone tag, which really just consisted of me calling the business trying to find out when they were actually coming out to fix the dishwasher to make sure I was home from working and getting no answer or calls back. When we finally did schedule a day and time, the first time there was no confirmation call the day of and the technician showed up late and was very rude and abrupt. As he lay on my kitchen floor complaining aloud he mumbles something to me and after asking him "what?" about three times I was finally able to understand him. There was a part that need to be replaced that he apparently didn't have with him and wouldn't be able to get until the following Monday. So as the weekend passed, I trying calling Monday to find out when this man will be back....get no answer. Finally I call again on my way home from work to find out that the guy cancelled and isn't coming. Did they plan on calling and telling me this?! But was told they would be there the day after. The next day rolls around and the man comes back to fix the part. After another half an hour or more, he comes to the conclusion that it wasn't just the part, but that the dishwasher was shot and we needed a new one. My fiancé was home during this time and standing next time me when he starts to mumble the news to us. A.) If you can't speak properly and clearly then you should not be dealing with the customers face-to-face B.) In the process of addressing "us" he tried speaking ot my fiancé as if I wasn't there. This is not the first time A male technician, mechanic etc. has done this. He proceeds to attempt to get my fiancés attention while I'm standing right there looking at him. So I of course rudely inform him that I'm right here and he can talk to me and not my fiancé...he did not look happy about that (ladies, you'll understand my extreme frustration with this) After that fantastic display of manners and respect, he said he would be back the next time to install the replacement. Mid-day Wednesday I call to find out when they'll be there to install the new dishwasher, of course no answer. Why does this business even have a phone?! This oh so lovely gentlemen rolls into my driveway half an hour late. I'm pretty sure if the back door hadn't been locked he planned on just walking right in. I walk over and unlock the door and open it to let him in and that was it. I had no intention of striking up a conversation with this man, so I left him to do his job.....to the best of his ability. While sitting in my living room while he worked, I noticed a fly flying around the house and got up to find the back door wide open. Irritated, I walk over and close the door and ask him to please keep it shut. This idiotic man had the audacity to ask me why....WHY?! Are you kidding me?! I proceed to tell him 1.) because you're letting flies in the house, 2.) because the A/C is on and you're letting the hot air in and 3.) because it's my house and I said so! Unbelievable!! After that I walk away to let him finish the job so he can leave. Well apparently about 15 minutes after that he was done....because I saw him backing out of my driveway! Not a word, like "Okay, I'm done"....nothing; literally just left. I walk back over to the kitchen to find my floor, kitchen counters, sink and underneath the kitchen sink an utter mess. After cleaning up after this slob I go outside to take the trash out to then pieces of packaging and garbage from this man all over my driveway. I honestly could NOT believe the level of rudeness and disrespect from this horrendous man and the unprofessional, unreliable company...
Read moreDisappointed, mostly due to the surprise in pricing: Our clothes dryer broke, we called 1st Class Appliance and they were out within a couple of days to evaluate. We were told that our motor was broken, and the dryer would require a new one. We asked if it was worth investing into our five year old Samsung front load dryer, and were told yes. What will this cost us? ...probably between 180 and 200 dollars. We anticipated that this actually meant 200 dollars. We said lets go ahead and do the repair, and were told it would probably be later this week. Three days later we called to inquire on the timing of this repair, and were told at that phone call that we were on the repair schedule for today (glad we called)! The repair was completed, but the price changed to just under 300 dollars. We also learned that most new dryers go for only 5 to 7 years...ours is already 5 years old. Go figure, the local Lowes and Home Depot ads are featuring brand new dryers for under 300 dollars and up.....buyers remorse. The two people we dealt with were pleasant, but in hind site wonder if they were more interested in making the service sale than giving judicious advice. We could have purchased a new dryer for the same amount...
Read more1st Class Appliance is exactly that. I received outstanding service that began when I scheduled my appointment with Amy until my oven repair was completed. First I'd like to share my nightmare experience from another repair company. I had the DTE Home Protection Plan and DTE sent a repair technician to my home from a company they have a contract with. I was told the bake element is bad and was advised of the following: unable to get to the hidden bake element, internal cavity, would have to strip the entire unit, rewire it and was told to replace the unit because the repair exceeds the cost of the 8 year old range. DTE then sent another technician, a senior technician, who stated the same as above. He said it would take 5-7 hours to repair and cost several hundred dollars. Here's the happy ending. Al from 1st Class Appliance installed a new bake element in less than one hour, did not tear the oven apart, and the price was very fair. Al is a first class man; he is professional, honest, and is top notch quality. I will definitely recommend 1st Class Appliance to family and friends. I know they will...
