Discovery Place in Rockingham is AMAZING, a place like no other, a hidden gym in NC!! I am so grateful my family made the drive to go, so worth it! The staff is super friendly and so accommodating ❤You dont get that personal touch at many childrens museums. They work so hard, and are always checking on things to make sure it is just right for the kids. Even our teenager had fun- we have 6 kids 1yr old to 13 and they all had something to do. It beautiful inside, super clean and high-tech. Couldn't believe how modern and sophisticated it is! Our family is so thankful for the staff's kindness and it makes us want to make that drive more often. We went on a weekday and it was not crowded at all! If you want to stay for lunch, there is a delicious restaurant right across the street called Pattens Grille. Parents try their homemade dip and chips and kids will enjoy the hushpuppies to start. They have delicious pulled pork and reasonable prices for kids meals! It's a perfect daytrip! Thanks Discovery, you made our sons 3rd BirthDay...

Read moreWe visited for the first time in April of 2022, and it was a hit with my children. They are nearly 3 and 5 and had so much fun exploring! When we arrived there were 2 school groups visiting. Even then it didn't feel overwhelming, although I was definitely more comfortable letting my children explore a little more freely after they departed.
The museum staff is so friendly and everything is very clean and tidy. It made for a really good experience and we're looking forward to returning!
A few notes...parking is in an adjacent public lot and was very easy. We packed snacks for a light lunch and ate in "the hub." ...again, super easy.
Finally, we explored long enough that we stopped across the street for a bakery snack before heading for home. They don't open until 2:00 many days, but it was a great...
