Hear me out. Before I moved to the area I made sure to look up all the small bookstores and cafes in the area.

Side note: Duck Blind by the Fulton Harbor and Quirky Birds coffee are a vibe. My poodle loves chilling with me there in that beachy breeze.

This is a gem 💎 and the heartbeat of the bookish community in Rockport . Many book clubs meet here, not just the romantic ones.

I joined one that meets each Tuesday at noon and another that meets on the last Wednesday of the month at 6PM. (Complete with snacky snacks) You get book club discounts and it’s a democratic process among members for the next read.

The store is clean and cozy. I've curled up reading coffee and drinking books on the sofas. 😆

Christi the owner is kindhearted and has an excellent way of finding books to cross off and add to your TBR.

The selection is fantastic and reasonably priced! A decent romance section, fiction, fantasy, horror, faith, teen, and kids genres to name a few. She will order if you need one not in stock and she gets more stuff every week.

Tip: At the beginning of the store, there is a $7 section.

I swear I'm going to go broke at this store.

Also, there was the 2nd year of the Rockport Fulton Book Festival that Splendid Sun made possible. They had local authors and stuff like that. Definitely gonna...

I absolutely LOVE coming here. I live about 25 minutes away, but make the drive for this store. The book selection is great, the owner Christie is AWESOME, and I love how fun she makes it to shop there. My favorite is the “blind book date” deal she does and it’s one of the reasons I like to go. The “gifts” part of this shop is also fun if you want to get that bookworm on your life a little book related gift.

I also really appreciate how Christie makes time to chat with her customers and get to know them. I have even read and suggested books to others based on suggestions I have gotten from the owner. I am so happy to shop at independent bookstores and shops in general due to this reason. Such a great bookstore. A gem in Rockport Texas. A place where you must visit if you are in the area. They have books in all the genres. The owner of the bookstore is so friendly and kind.
