Whataburger — Restaurant in Rockport

I travel a great deal and I'm always earing on the road. Being a true Texan, I've grown up with Whataburger coursing through my veins. Of all the whataburges I've eaten over the last 10 years from Port Lavaca to Colorado Springs, this ine is the best! There are a slew of them i would avoid, like the ones in Victoria, Lubbock, and Amarillo to cite a few, and plenty others i would just suggest you not take a chance on. However, you can bet your last dollar that this one is different !!!

We ordered to go on our way back from having a few Old-fashions in Corpus at the Omni and at Whiskey Palm her in Rockport. I was the DD, and my compatriot/copilot, aka money bags 💰 🤑 had a hankering for something to snack on before we got back to Port Lavaca. We stopped in, put in an order, and honestly figured it would be another craptacular performance by the company that sold out to Chicago. BUT IT WASN'T!!! The manager on duty was working the drive-through and man did he do great! The order was double checked, condiments, straws and napkins were in the bags. But waut, there's more! We ordered a patty melt with onion rings and a #2 with cheese. Whoever was working last night takes pride in what they do. The burgers were cooked to absolute perfection 👌🏽 👍🏼 💯 the fries were fresh and filled up to the top. The onion rings were golden brown and were amazing! The burgers were put together as though they were made for a Whataburger commercial 😋 the buns were toasted, fresh and just the way you would want your meal to come out. This was the drive through!! The one place you could historically bet in to get it wrong and totally ruin your experience and meal.

Not here folks! These guys get it right, these guys kicked but on a Saturday night. These guys are the crew you want to steal away and have come work for you at your own restaurant.

These are the guys you want cooking, preparing and serving someone you know when you send them in to try and Whataburger for the first time.

You had better take care of this crew and set up a tip jar - they deserve it!

We were beyond impressed with the pride, quality, and service attitude of the crew that was working at about 930pm last night!!!

First time I ate here, I ordered one meal. Asked for no onions, but there were onions. There was such a thin smear of bbq sauce in the middle of the bun that I could barely taste it in the few bites that even contained it at all.

Second time I ate here, I ordered four meals online. When I tried to check in for curbside pickup, their website wouldn't work, so I had to go inside to let them know I was there.

It took me about 8 minutes to get back home, but all our food was cold except for one of the small orders of fries. We all agreed it was as though they had made the food, then put it in a fridge. My burger didn't come with the mustard I had ordered, and not much mayo. Strangely, they had also given us two extra burgers.

The employees who took my order were very nice though. The one star on my rating goes to them.

Where I live, there are no Whataburgers, so these were two of the only three times I've eaten at one, and I am not impressed. The first time was in Kerrville, and that was a good experience.

I stopped in there (again) as I'm re-visiting in the Fulton-Rockport area from Battle Creek, Michigan. I went in there with a bunch of family as we were meeting up for a good meal to eat while catching up with each other. Unfortunately our very large order tested some of the staff and the orders got mixed up, some food never made it, and some were made wrong. I've worked in food industry for a long time, so I completely understand that happening. The true test of a place is how they handle their mistakes. Having said that, the manager did absolutely amazing! She went out of her way to make sure we happy and that everything was corrected and went above beyond that even! I already have been a longtime fan of Whataburger, and unfortunately in my location there are no Whataburger's remotely close... hundreds of miles. So when I finally get to come here and enjoy a meal, it's so nice and refreshing to know I can get the perfect customer service reaction I could only hope for from any establishment.
