I always feel like they nickel and dime us to death every time we go here. The water doesn't taste great. I usually will put lemon in my water if it seems to need some flavor. If you want lemon, you get 4 slices for $1.00. If you want iced tea, it's $2.75, which is $0.25 more than soda. That's an extra $5.50 added to the price! And don't have sweet tea to justify the cost. The food is okay at best. My expectations always remain high but then I am disappointed once again. We paid with a credit card. I saw the surprise that awaited me: a $0.78 'non-cash adjustment'. I didn't see signage that said they charged extra for credit cards (I think that's illegal, but what do I know? I just want to protect myself against theft by not carrying cash.) It was okay. I have had better for less.

First time here and saw all the people there so we figured this place had to be good with all the people there. We had 4 tacos and two drinks and payed under $30 bucks. We had two barbecoa , one on flour tortilla and the other on corn tortilla. The other two was a hippo tacos on flour. These tortillas were homemade corn and flour tortillas so that made it even better. They put a lot of food on the taco that I ordered two extra corn tortillas to make another taco . The service was not on point, our waiter never came back to ask if we wanted hot sauce or refills. They were busy but they should come back to ask. These tacos were delicious , we will be back when we visit the town again as long as we are NOT in a rush.

Jalisco Restaurant in Rockport may not catch your eye from the outside, and the interior is pretty basic—nothing fancy or unique—but don’t let that fool you. If you’re looking for a solid, satisfying lunch with good service, this is a great spot to check out. The staff is friendly and efficient, and the food hits the mark for a casual meal. It’s a dependable place for a quick bite, especially during lunchtime. Just a heads-up: breakfast ends at 11 AM, which is pretty standard, so plan accordingly if you’re hoping to catch the morning menu. Overall, Jalisco delivers on what matters most—good food and good service.

Let me start by saying the food was good. The service had a lot to be desired. I ordered a beer at 10:15am on Sunday. While watching women drink memosas I was told I couldn't have my beer until I got my food. Legal serving time changed to 10am back September 1 2021. Servers should know if they are serving not have to go ask. When a different waitress brought our food to the table. She brought 2 tortillas for 2 men two eat breakfast. She also only brought 1 set of silverware. I nicely brought these requests to the waitress attention. I also reminded her about my beer again at this time and she assured me it was coming. Never received silverware or my beer and when the tortillas finally came, my food was cold. Neither of the young waitress should have been waiting tables on there own. Their were 2 other tables with complaints before us. I'm so disappointed. This was my favorite Mexican restaurant before the hurricane. I will take my business elsewhere or go eat at the taco truck. I rarely complain because I have managed a restaurant years ago, but that service was sub-par at best and that's being nice. Before the "owner" makes some sneid excuse as he has in others reviews please train your people better, or don't...

While this restaurant was clean and everyone was friendly, the food was highly overpriced for a meal that was not very good. My gordito was burnt and the chips were overdone. For our group of 3 adults & 5 children, we received, after asking why we hadn't yet, 2 baskets of chips and 2, 4oz Styrofoam cups with hot sauce for us all to share. Also, until I received my ticket, I did not know the kid's meals did not include drinks. Ultimately, a kid's meal & drink will cost you $8 for regular child size portions. By the way, don't ask for anything to take leftovers with you... they charge you for each one you get without letting you know in advance! The only reason I took anything with us is that I dislike wasting anything and honestly, had I known they'd charge me for that too, I would have let them keep it.

I have never wrote a bad review for a restaurant before, however this time, it was all warranted. My entire family was very disappointed and feels like we were thoroughly ripped off. I do not recommend this...

I am visiting Rockport from Waco, TX. Today, my family and I ate at Jalisco’s for breakfast. First, the hostess informed us it would be an hour wait for a table for 8, but we only waited for 10 minutes before a table was ready. We got the feeling that she did not want us to stick around to wait. The place is crowded, with not much walking room. All you see are servers running around and yelling across the facility to one another. There were only two women’s restrooms, but only one was working so the line was long. Our server, Alvaro Esquivel, was the ultimate reason why I decided to post a review. He was rude, and did not check on our table at all. When it was time to pay for our meals, we had to figure out how to pay on our own because he had not visited our table since the beginning of our visit when he took food/drink orders. He was even rude to us when we paid for our food, and handed my change in an unfavorable manner. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this...
