Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Rockport

We were / are not impressed. We have been here forever. Ordered two smoothies and a salad! The smoothies are prepared and given to you right away, then you wait! And wait! And wait! While we have been sitting here, we have watched multiple unsatisfied customers come and go. They are out of bacon, they just told a man. What? Ok. So the guy said he just wanted his money back. They had to call someone to see how to return the man’s money. We honestly believe the man left without his order or his money because he (understandably) became frustrated. We were told they were out of ginger for our smoothie. We chose another add in. The smoothies are mostly ice. Not impressed at all. We will never go to another Tropical Smoothie again. We are from San Antonio and I had a similar experience at our Tropical Smoothie. Unbelievable. The man that came in after us just got his salad. I’m still waiting. They just said they have no forks! Well, that’s a small thing, but it is the last straw. Salad is still not ready! We have now asked for our money back. The boy making the salad hasn’t changed his gloves and has touched EVERYTHING! Like the red bucket and box in the picture. Yuk!...

I love tropical smoothie, but this visit really upset me and it was obvious that it upset others too. I came in earlier today to pick up an order and it was very busy, the drive thru line was wrapped around the building and there were many other people inside waiting with me. There was only one boy doing smoothies, he had a pile of orders that he was making. There was also another boy doing food, which I can only assume he had orders like the one on smoothie. Then there was a girl taking orders. What I found upsetting was a the girl who came from the back that completely ignored the others that needed help. One of the workers even asked if she would help. She even said, “i’m not helping with orders”, this took me back and i even saw other customers around me shocked and uncomfortable by her lack of respect for her other workers. I have worked in the food industry before and know rushes mean all hands on deck. To the two boys working through that rush while being calm, cool, and collected, and still giving good customer service I applaud y’all. Delicious smoothies! Have to find the right time to go since it is a very small space and not much seating. My grandmother is on oxygen and uses a walker with a basket. It was busy, but I usually do not have to try so hard to find a table with enough space for her. (Merely due to it being such a small establishment) However, the kicker for me was that I felt completely lost. It was my first time there and none of the employees even seemed to try to help me understand the menu items or what i may enjoy eating there. I'm not one for healthy food, so that is a factor to my experience being bad due to my lack of understanding the menu. I hope in the future your employess are more attentive of customers instead of merely standing there listening to someone talk to themselves trying to figure out...
