Brought in original wedding ring to have the prongs fixed. When we picked it up noticed that the diamond had a huge crack across the diamond. When we brought it back the owner claimed he had no record of us purchasing the ring there but still agreed to replace the stone with a diamond without a flaw in it. When we came back to pick the ring up and look at the diamond we noticed the ring had a bruted girdle all around it which is horrible. Once we brought it up the response was that nothing else was going to be done with the ring and refused to put another diamond under the microscope to compare to the diamond in the ring. In regards to your reasoning, I can post pictures of your "quality diamond" if you'd like others to see but my wife is sick of this whole ordeal and ruining her wedding ring. I just recently had my favorite necklace fixed at The Gem Shop and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received! They were very clear when explaing the repairs they were going to be doing, the price was great (way less than I expected) and they triple checked with me before shortening the chain on my necklace to make sure it was OK since they had to remove the entire damaged section. They also reassured me that if it ended up being too short for my liking, that they could replace the chain altogether for me. On top of all that, the employees there were fantastic to work with, very knowledgeable and kind throughout the entire process. I hardly ever write reviews but these guys definitely deserve it.
