I'm a creature of habit, and I've been coming in a few times a week for lunch for about 2 months. The specials are wonderful for a deal, and the food is good bar-food. Today was my first Friday.
Usually it's pretty slow and Bri is usually my bartender. She's fantastic and the service is always great.
Let me preface my negative review with this: negative reviews (....and perhaps a crappy tip) are the only thing we can do about awful service. I rated 4 stars instead of five because if this was my first impression of this place I would never come back.
It was busy at 3pm with one server/bartender. They were wicked understaffed for how busy it was. I sat at the bar and waited patiently. I didn't time it, but it took a long time. I almost walked out (Keep in mind that this is my regular lunch spot.) The only words I spoke to the bartender was my order. Every other time my mouth was full, or she was unavailable.
They were probably understaffed in the kitchen too. When my AYCE fried cod finally came I was ravenous. First/last time having it here. I was burnt. Not black, but I had to tear off the parts that were too hard to eat. Once again there was nobody to tell.
I decided to leave that crappy tip after the night shift bartender showed up and served me an old draft beer from the cooler (she splashed a little more in so that it looked fresh.) It was flat, but even with the second staff member nobody was available to tell.
I've been working in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years. Crappy tip is still at least 15%. Half of the problem with the service was the management's decision to understaff.
The service was so bad for this one visit that, unless Bri is working, I'll find a new...
Read moreHey Everyone, It was such a gloomy rainy day today but had the perfect lunch meal here! They have the most creamiest tasting tomato soup with some yummy ingredients in it that adds a flare of flavor to my taste buds. Not alone, I must say I had to incorporate their ultimate grilled cheese sandwich with two different cheeses in it and bacon pieces with a small cup of their delicious pickles that were cold and crunchy too! Now that’s the only meal that I could stuff myself with so of course, I definitely recommend you coming to this place, so, please check out their menu and enjoy their great friendly service and enjoy the TV’s that are on the wall to watch the sports of your choice and the many selections of alcoholic beverages they serve too! I know I will be coming back...
Read moreSuper good! The atmosphere is sports-bar-ish--which I'm not super into, but many of you may be. And there are only a handful of tables in addition to the main bar.
But the service was attentive, and everyone in our party loved the food.
It is also kid-friendly: I noticed other tables with young children who seemed to be having a great time.
I had the shrimp tacos... The menu oversells the toppings a bit--it's basically cole slaw with limes to squeeze. But overall, they were super tasty. For a side, I had what they advertise as their "famous" tater tots. While they're not knock-you-to-the-floor amazing, they were nicely seasoned and perfectly crunchy, without being too greasy.
My dining companions had the chicken Caesar wrap and the patty melt, and they really enjoyed...
