The Rockton Inn — Restaurant in Rockton Township

I'd like to post a response in regards to Nancy zalzalah's review.

I was dining adjacent to this couple on this night and while her review is mostly accurate, it is missing an important piece of information. The manager/owner did eventually credit them the discount they should have gotten using the groupon, so they did in fact get the discount. Also, Nancy is failing to mention that although the manager was rude, her boyfriend was extremely rude as well. He was swearing and practically yelling during the whole encounter in the middle of the dining room. Even before anything even happened with the groupon, he was extremely loud to the point that we could hear his entire conversation with his girlfriend from another table. Also, after the manager did credit them the discount, he was still raising his voice and cursing about the issue. I finally told him to please keep his voice down and to stop swearing because he was making it uncomfortable for the other diners. I'm not sure if he even heard me or not because he appeared to just ignore me.

In the end, yes I feel that management was rude and they were in the wrong. I've written my own letter to them about how I felt after witnessing the manager yelling at her staff in the middle of the dining room. However, I think that it should be noted that Nancy's review is missing two key points. They did get the discount in the end, and her boyfriend was ruder and louder than the manager. If he had spoken with more tactfulness and in a more comfortable tone for all of the diners around him, things might not have gotten as heated...

Jerks! Placing order for carry out BLT and fried mushrooms. Asked if I wanted fries with the BLT, said no because I was getting the mushrooms. Then thought for a second and asked if the sandwich came with fries, he said yes and I replied I would like the fries. He said, " too late". ? Whatever. Gave me a total $5 more than shown on web. I mentioned this and was told they hadn't updated. So, told him at that price I would like the fries that come with the sandwich, he said "I asked you and you said no". I said how hard can it be? He said, "I'll see what I can do but... you did say no". Really? I asked if he'd rather get hung up on that or have the $25 for a sandwich, fries and mushrooms. He repeated again "I asked you three times!" I said, "if this is how Rockton Inn does business, I'll just go to Arby's". He said fine and hung up. Rude and lazy. They want too much money but at the same time don't care if they throw your business away. Spend your money somewhere else, somewhere you'll get more for your money and not be treated like a...

I've been here several times only to hear Pistol Pete. The food is good, for bar food. Great Shrimp. Tiny Dance Floor. If you are coming to hear live music, don't come on a night there is some kind of game on TV, because that is the owners priority. We had to wait till almost 1045 for the 930 band to start playing. The musicians were there, but not allowed to start by the management until "the game" was over. We were very tired by then, and could only stay for 1 set. The only reason they get a 4 star is because Pistol Pete is so awesome. Otherwise, it's just a neighborhood bar. Our group thought they should have put the TVs on mute and let Pete start playing at the appointed time. This was not fair to PP fans, who traveled miles from Wisconsin to her him play.
