The Landscapers, LLC — Local services in Rockville

We hired The Landscapers to execute a good size landscaping project in our backyard in September. Our project included grading, underground drainage systems, building stone stair and walkways, stone retaining walls, covering a cement patio and walls with stone, a river stone field, and plants.

We chose The Landscapers after getting estimates from three other landscaping companies because Evan Brown, the company owner, carefully listened to what we wanted and clearly understood what the end result should be. In addition, we spoke with several past clients who highly recommended the Landscapers. Price wise, the Landscapers’ estimate was not the least expensive nor was it the most expensive.

Evan estimated that the job would take two and a half to three weeks, but it actually took nearly six weeks. There were a couple of days that were rained out, but generally the time estimate was too optimistic.

Prior to starting the job, we met Evan at a local quarry to select the stone for our project. Evan advised us about the pros and cons of the different types of stone and had us choose each pallet of stone for our project. This was fun and ensured that we would get exactly the stone color that we wanted.

Evan’s crew was excellent, from the foreman to the workers. They were professional, communicative, conscientious, and extremely hard working. The stonework came out beautifully, and it’s clear that they didn’t cut corners to get the work done faster.

The overall project was more extensive and labor intensive than we had imagined. When it was complete, we realized that the price was not excessive. We are thrilled with the results. Evan and his team turned our idea into reality. We are looking forward to seeing how it looks in the spring when the grass is back and the plants begin to thrive.

It was a pleasure to work with Evan and the team at The Landscapers! Our house became a swamp anytime it rains and we needed to get that addressed. We also had a number of challenging landscaping needs including: bamboo tree and root removal, installation of a bamboo barrier, ground regrading, and haul of a garden bed plus mountains of leaves on our property.

I had met with three different landscaping companies and while all three were roughly similar in price, I liked Evan the most and his unique approach to dealing with the heavy pooling of water in our backyard and the side of the house whenever it rained. He knows his stuff and is an expert in the landscaping field. You can see in the picture that water would pool by the back of our house. We also had a jungle of bamboo that I wanted removed so we could get a new fence installed. Evans team came out and did an amazing job on some difficult work outside. They brought machinery to trench out the bamboo roots and install a bamboo barrier as well as a bulldozer to help re-grade the land for water to naturally exit our property. His team also put down topsoil, hay and grass seed to complete our yard in advance of this coming Spring season. I look forward to working with Evan again for our future landscaping needs. I had a variety of work completed by The Landscapers, LLC and I am very pleased with their attention to detail and the quality of work. Throughout the process I requested a few changes and additions and Evan was able to quickly provide me a quote and schedule the work. It's been a particularly rainy year so I did have to wait from initial quote to the beginning of the work, but I appreciated that they waited to schedule the work until they knew they could complete it within a few days. I've asked a lot of questions and I never felt like I was burdening them with my persistence. Having this landscaping work done has saved us thousands on unnecessary and dramatic work done for drainage in our yard. I'll continue to go back to Evan on any additional landscaping needs I have...
