Saints Valley — Local services in Rockville

We stopped in today around 12-12:30 PM and were genuinely impressed. The store has gorgeous bohemian‑style fashion, unique artwork, an art gallery in the back, and so much decor to explore. We ended up purchasing a scarf today and we plan to come back soon since we are locals to the area.

However…

I’m leaving four stars because the customer service style made the experience uncomfortable. The woman at the front was approached us kind and smiling, however she continued to hover over our shoulders from the moment we walked in until we left. She also asked us repeatedly if we were going to buy every 1-2 mins, which was distracting from our overall shopping experience.

My fiancé and I are a brown minority couple, and we noticed a group of white shoppers who came in after us were given more space. We can’t say for sure why the difference happened, but the level of monitoring toward us specifically felt excessive and affected our overall visit.

I can assure you that my fiancé and I make a solid income and had every intention to purchase items. However, the hovering behavior implied assumptions about us that felt rooted in prejudice about our race and appearance, and that was upsetting.

We love the store’s offerings and fully plan to return and potentially purchase more pieces. However, as locals here we would really appreciate a more spacious, trust‑based approach while browsing. The hovering came across as overbearing and made us feel very uncomfortable, and pulled our focus from the overall experience.
