Sunset Computer Techs — Local services in Rocky Mount

Just moved to NC from VA and while setting up my office PC, realized there was no power. Replaced the power supply with no change. Googled computer repair near me and landed on Sunset Computer Techs on Friday afternoon less an hour before they closed. Called and spoke with Melvin to confirm they worked on PC’s and explained the issue I was having. He actually walked me thru several fixes on the phone to resolve the issue without having to bring the computer in to the shop. Those didn’t resolve the issue and he offered to diagnose the problem at no cost and repair if approved. I drove to the shop and left the computer not expecting to hear anything until the first of the following week- by the time I drove back home, I recd an text from Melvin saying unfortunately the motherboard was bad and needed replacement. He provided a quote for parts and labor that I thought was very reasonable and I approved the repair. He ordered the part before the close of business on Friday and said it would take 4-5 business days for delivery. Even though there was a holiday (July 4th) in the following week, the parts came in and the PC was picked up today, just over a week later. I am planning to have him upgrade the OS on the PC for a very reasonable price as well. I really think he went above and beyond to manage my expectations and provided exceptional customer service thru the entire process. Melvin is very unprofessional in May 2020 phone was unable to be fixed was unaware they have a 30 day policy they get rid of your devices keep in-mind I never signed anything and was unaware months later I’m looking for my device can’t find it just wanted to see if they have it.they gave me the runaround claimed a look through some boxes saying that the computer should’ve sent out a reminder text (never received) they try to fast talk bottom line they are very unprofessional.they need to Work on communication with their customer especially in a pandemic where everything is all over the place I will never do business with them Melvin clearly have personal issues because he wanted to argue With me like I was his woman disgusting

In response to the owner that does not explain your communication is still very poor we’re not saying it’s your responsibility to keep me in touch the fact that it was not made clear to post a sign somewhere in the corner of your store not making it know courtesy and communication would’ve been nice just like I responded to you guys and thank you for the attempt to fix the phone a nice courtesy would’ve been like hey you have 30 days to pick up your device just as a courtesy reminder thank you People always want to justify that the customers are always wrong no is your business and is your job to make sure your customers know what’s going on not up oh well like I said you’re a pitiful and disgusting...

I had to come here to publicly leave a comment. I was visiting family in a nice part of Rocky Mount,NC.Well...we were all eating dinner.and rushing out the door to see a movie. I dropped my I PHONE (1st time)i was so miserable/sad about it.I was missing it so much for a complete day!(Any cell fone)would do if i was only making a few calls ya know. But i just have all my file(s)much anyhow,and relevant text on this one)and i didn't want to wait a long time to get the phone back.So i ignored the claim to have free repair with (T-Mobile)and traveled right down the street(8 min. away)to be exact to this place where 2 of my family members in town had prior recommended (They do business there too!) This place is very professional from time you're walking into the store. They were fair with the price. I had it back literally the same afternoon. few hours or less.Thanks to Melvin. You're the best there and i forgot the other man's name.Thank you from a continuing customer when i visit few x a year Rocky Mount,NC.
