Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Rocky Mount

"Blast from the Past" type of dining experience. I remember the old drive-ins where the servers would roller skate out to your car, take your order, then bring it to you and "hang" it on your car window. Sonic is as close to that nostalgic era as you can get these days... but even better because the service is faster, the food is "have it your way", there is more variety on the menu, and the seating is more comfortable! You can get flavors added to your soft drink, such as: Vanilla Coca Cola! There is a complete list to choose from, and you are the artist, just create whatever you desire. As for food, there are burgers, hot dogs, chicken, french fries, onion rings, milk shakes, even breakfast burritos to name a few... I like the Sonic Burger without cheese, and Vanilla Coke. Sonic is usually service with a smile, however there have been times when I have had problems... orders with cheese instead of no cheese, trouble getting someone to even take my order, after placing an order it somehow getting lost and having to place it again... but most of the time these things are an anomaly. I chalk it up to normal...

Not too thrilled with Sonic as they keep getting my order wrong. The first occasion, i asked for a cookie dough blast add peanut butter and whipped cream. They gave me something with chocolate in it, the cookie dough pieces and whipped cream. Sent it back. Guy returned this time it had no whipped cream. At this point, i just leave it alone as I had grown tired of waiting. I went back last night to give it another try. Frankly, it wasn't any better. I asked for the same thing as above and still did not get what I wanted (and paid for). My boys wanted an OREO Peanut Butter Master shake, they got the oreo, no peanut butter. I don't know what's going on, but this place used to be awesome; got your order right, had great customer service, the people who brought your food out were super friendly....its just gone downhill...

This was not a good experience. I rarely go to this location since the bad ice cream incident. I pulled in just to get a couple of corn dogs for lunch. As usual I hit the red button to call for an associate to take my order. In their defense it was quite full with barely an open bay to park so I expected a wait. I was on my phone when I noticed that the person next to me was hitting their button several times. Other customers were actually going to the door waiting for something. I noticed associates not doing anything and were involved in a conversation. There was no one delivering any orders or answering any calls for orders. I think it's time to simply forget coming here if you want lunch and hope to get it during your lunch hour. There are entry of choices to spend your money...
