Beware: Trade It sold us defective products twice in 3 months and then accused us of being scammers.
On May 28, 2025, I purchased a Canon camera for $349.99. Within three days, it completely overheated and stopped working in the middle of an event I had been hired to photograph. At first, I was told I could only receive store credit since I didn’t have the receipt, even though the product was clearly defective. Thankfully, I eventually found the receipt and was able to get my money back — but the situation was stressful and financially damaging.
Then, on August 23, 2025, we purchased a MacBook for $350. The laptop came with a charger but was placed straight into a bag without ever being shown that it powered on. When we got home, we discovered it would only turn on while plugged in and would not hold a charge. We returned the very next day, only to be told it had to be sent for inspection. Days later, we were told it had “milk damage” and couldn’t be repaired or refunded.
When we called back to question this, the staff not only refused to help but accused us of trying to scam them and told us not to shop there anymore. This is beyond insulting. My partner is lactose intolerant — the claim that we spilled milk into the laptop within 24 hours is ridiculous.
To make matters worse, when I went to pick up the laptop (since we are now forced to keep it), the front desk clerk passed me off to another employee, who then passed me off again. I had to wait until the manager finished helping another customer just to have the laptop shoved back at me. It was rude, dismissive, and extremely unprofessional — especially considering this was the second defective product we purchased there.
Trade It claims items are tested before sale, but if that’s true, why was I handed a laptop that doesn’t even hold a charge? Instead of standing behind their products, they chose to insult paying customers and label us scammers.
We will not be shopping here again, and I strongly caution others to think twice before trusting this store with...
Read moreWell I bought a Car audio battery that I Paid $1000 dollars for 4months ago. I took it in to see How much I could get for it because I'm Building another Project that Requires Less Power plus it was 1 of 3 batteries that I have. but walked in there. Sat it down and asked him His Much I could get. He typed a number in the calculater and showed it to the OTher employee and said man...imma go look it up..took home 5-8minutes l..he came back and was talking back and fourth like they didn't want me to hear them and very Sneaky about it. He typed in the calculater and said. Ok I can give you about $"10" bucks for it...me in shock..I'm like WHAT!! He said ok $"12" bucks... Adding insult To Insult.... I said "You can't do $30 dollars?". he replied "I Seen it on eBay for "$70" dollars and we have to Sale Under EBay." As mad as I was I asked him if He really Had to Go thru All of that Back and forth Mess to tell me that..He had no Respectable Excuse. This is not The First time I went through this kind of Poor Service from the establishment leaving the premises feeling Hustled and disrespected. I don't go there to often, only a couple times a year Because of the Poor Service and I inkt went there Thinking the Staff had either been Trained or Fired For the good but Service there has Gotten worse as well as the Upkeep of the items they do buy. Obviously there's no order or discipline going on because the first I went back in April 2015, I bought some DVDs from them and When u Got home. 1 of the DVDs "Daddy Daycare* to be exact was a "BOOTLEG"..A burned copy of the Original Movie. So Something Has To be Done ASAP. Only thing I Recommend is the Owner AND Corporate To Do a Walk-Through and Investigate Everybody! Its not a Good Thing to have Your Customers leave Your establishment feeling Hustled and Disrespected by Your Staff. Poor Service is Going to Cost you More Then Money....
Thanks For...
Read moreWent to the store today and bought a couple games. My first impression was that it was a pretty cool store. They had a decent selection of games, for very fair prices, although the game section was very disorganized and messy. MANY of the cases were empty (were the disks stolen?). I ended up picking up 3 games. After waiting at the front counter, which was empty, for 5 minutes, I was finally acknowledged by the staff. I asked the clerk if I could look in the glass case at a game, she was very reluctant for some reason, but I convinced her by saying it was only one game and that I knew exactly where it was. She then rushed me over there and pulled the game out of the case. I felt like she was annoyed by it, so I didn't bother about asking to see anything else behind the glass, despite being interested in a few other items. I then left the store after being rung up.
The experience was pretty awful, so I was happy to get out of there.
After I got home about an hour later, I opened the game that I had purchased within the glass case, which had been sealed in plastic wrap. I then discovered that the game itself was not even inside. It was a sealed collectors edition Resident Evil 5, with no disk. I don't even know how this happened? They claim to test every game to make sure their customers get what they pay for, yet somehow overlook the fact that an expensive collector's edition box doesn't even have a game in it. To be fair, it was partially my fault for not opening the game when I got out to the car. Unfortunately I live too far away to return it. Regardless I will never go back to this store for as long as I live, what a dreadful place. The manager...
