Bought 17.54 pounds of oranges just to eat, but was charged 0.49 per lb instead of 0.99 cents per 3 lbs. (0.99/3= 0.33 cents per lb) which was advertised.
Came back after we realized we overpaid, and it took 4 people to help the cashier. At the end I was given a dollar and some coins back and then they said "Okay, your total is 7.40". (17.54x0.33 = $5.78) Why are we paying more? We only got ~$1 back.
We kept saying that this was not right, but the butcher came over, tossed our change at us and told us to "get out, get out, take your money to Walmart" Totally uncalled for. I wasn't saying anything bad to the cashiers either. I'm like 5ft tall too, why would you do this...? My dad was there too, but he's also pretty short and scrawny. Oddly aggressive much?

Read moreThe food is good, however the service is awful, when visiting the place there was a little girl about 10 y/o ordering tacos but could not explain how many she wanted, the chubby lady got frustrated and showing her frustration motion with her head to go to the cashier, also one of the cooks the short fat and chubby face got mad when i asked how long my food was going to be ready, then i asked the other cook, if that fat cook was the kitchen boos he did not say anything and started laughing when he told the chubby one what i asked him, the only nice employee is the young lady who works with them, The rest are always unhappy with long faces acting as if they are doing all customers a favor. That was my first and last time eating at that place, there are many places with good food and better customer service. JUST PAY ATTENTION AT HOW UNHAPPY AND MAD THEY LOOK WHEN...
Read moreThe real highlight of this store is the tiny restaurant tucked away in the back corner. They serve delicious, truly authentic Mexican food at very reasonable prices. The tacos and asada quesadilla were delicious. If you are looking for fancy, or perfectly spic and span, this place is not for you. Suggestions: brush up on your Spanish so you can order, because most of the employees don't speak much English. This place gets crowded at times.
All the sights, smells and sounds (mariachi music playing on the speakers) of any authentic supermercado (think downtown Los Angeles). Small grocery store that has everything necessary to cook various Mexican foods. Can't wait to return to do some shopping and have another...
