Communication from this facility with the family is not good. My dad has Dementia/Alzheimer's. He was recently hospitalized because he was not responding as he should. The doctor from hospital called and stated his sodium level was extremely high due to dehydration. They've never seen a level this high. Also he was malnourished and loss of muscle mass. We know there are stages to this disease but there was not communication with the family so we could as about suggestions for his care and not be uncomfortable. They very rarely got him up to walk and kept him a wheelchair. The doctor said this had to be going on for a while for him to have these levels. When they saw he was not eating or drinking they should have ordered lab work and had him put on IV for fluids. No one there ever told us he was not drinking or eating. When we come visit or call and ask how he was doing they would say he's doing the same. He also has a pressure point dark bruise on his heal we didn't know about until it was seen at a visit we...
Read moreExtremely poor communication. Pruitt changed my mother's care without notifying me (I am her designated representative and POA), Specific care was ordered by her physician and required in order for her health insurance to provide coverage. As a result of her specific care being discontinued without my knowledge, her insurance coverage was denied. Pruitt continued to send extremely large bills for the time my mother was there, but wasn't being treated as required. When I attempted to discuss this with Pruitt and seek proper resolution, Pruitt did not respond and for weeks I was stone-walled/ignored. I finally mailed a letter to the VP in Norcross (Steve Sheets). He did not respond, but rather the administrator in Rome emailed me and said he would look into it. Have not heard back from him yet. I've filed complaints with BBB and other...
Read moreMy mom has been cared for there twice and it is a very good place to have your love one. The office staff is very concerned always with your love ones care and they do their best to accommodate any issues that you may have. My mom recently had to vacate due to some issues with medication, but we finally realized it wasn't due to the facility. If it was possible, I would love for my mom to become a resident there again. I would like to Thank everyone there who made my mom's stay pleasant, especially Ingrid Whatley, and the office staff and a few other extremely caring care givers and lastly nurse Joanna and Mrs Faith. Yes, we may have had a few misunderstandings, but that's a part of life. Yet, I am extremely grateful for you guys for the care y'all showed my family...
