This is a review of the Seven Feathers RV Resort.
Stayed here a few times over the past 2 years. Convenient spot on the I5 to get to.
Resort was very nice, well taken care of. Pads were level, full hookup. We had a back in site for our 40 ft diesel coach. Room around pad was good, we have 4 slides and lots of room to spread out in the area we were in (cul de sac). Room around all pads were good.
We used the pool and spotted small bbq gathering areas for larger parties in a few places as well as free shuttles to casino which also had a buffet I think. Overall nice park setup.
It is possible to walk or ride an e-bike to the casino and we considered it but the shuttles were frequent and fast. Staff were polite, courteous and check in was efficient. We booked and reserved online well in advance.
Next day, we drove down the hill (5mins) to the Seven Feathers truck stop and fueled up. Nice setup there too, easy to get into, large, clean and well marked. High traffic with lots of semi’s pulling in and out for those of us wanting fresh diesel.
We had a large group of friendly neighbors (3-4 families spread over a few adjoining pads) who got abit exuberant and spread out well into the common road inhibiting traffic (other RVs, cars, shuttles and guests who ride their electric bike or walk) to play games, setup bbqs and a propane fire pit. This setup was around a sharp and possibly blind corner. We observed on a number of occasions where shuttles and other incoming RVs had to swerve and drive beyond edge of the lane to pass the group who, after a few drinks and good company, had forgotten that other guests use that lane. These were one way lanes.
Management did come to talk with them but only after a number of hours passed. After that, these guests promptly and politely took their party to a designated bbq area for that purpose.
I do feel bad for the 45’ tag axle that tried to get by this group earlier (who slowly got organized to get to one side of the lane). This driver decided to give a wide berth and drive on the edge of the lane only to encounter some branches for his troubles.
The reason I give this park a 3 star is because this large RV resort seeks to attract certain clientele (only late model RVs allowed per their policy) and charged accordingly. The park itself and amenities are quite good. Security was good too, lots of staff coming and going in their golf carts but seemed hesistant when it came to having guests observe park policies. Park policies are there to serve the comfort, convenience and safety of all guests especially when there exists facilities onsite to enable large group guests to enjoy themselves safely.
While I think the driver of the tag axle is ultimately responsible for his coach, it would not have happened if the park staff had ensured that all guests followed their park policies or even some...
Read moreI'm giving a rating of 5, because it's a great RV park that my wife and I stay at each Spring on our annual trip to/from CA (from WA). Paved level spaces, friendly staff, great hook-ups, cable, etc. If smoke bothers you, I recommend asking for a location far from the fire pits (which are close to the pool area) ... and it's totally dependent on which way the wind blows. Several parks I know are going without fire pits (even community ones), and since 7-Feathers seems to cater to older/retired RV'rs headed to the casino ... might be time to retire the fire pits.
I also recommend going over to the resort (even if you don't gamble) and getting a Frequent Player Card as it'll save you money on fuel and for your RV stay and others stuff. I got one 6 years ago, have never gambled, but it still gets me the discounts. It only takes a few minutes. Also can get your AAA or Good Sam discount on top of the Frequent Player discount.
I know it's a popular place, but I was a bit surprised at how the costs have inflated. This trip we had a tire problem, so I had to wait for Les Schwab to come out on the day we were leaving to fix a problem and I wasn't sure how long it'd take. I asked permission for a late checkout (just one or two hours), and it seemed like I was asking for the world. Perhaps it was just the guy at the desk, but the way he said "I'll give you an extra hour" seemed a bit sarcastic. Oh well, I ended up being on the road by 10:45 thanks to the Les Schwab at Myrtle Creek. They're great!
I did really appreciate the truck stop staff when I noticed my tire problem. I had driven down there before I knew the extent of the problem. It was Sunday morning ... they guided me to the "maintenance facility" at the rear of the property where the "air is always on". When I realized the issue was significant, they provided me names of 2 local tire repair facilities that I could call on a Sunday. I ended up waiting until Monday for Les Schwab (great decision), but the ladies at the Fuel Counter were very helpful.
So ... rating a 5 of 5 because overall, this is a great place to push out the slides, drop the levelers, and hook up the...
Read moreOverpriced! Misleading Section of Web Site! WiFi Process & Connecting Is Extremely Slow & Can Be Cumbersome!
It is a very nice RV park, however, in my opinion they are WAY overpriced.
We paid $59.40 and apparently that's with our veteran discount AND we booked our reservation online which is supposed to include a 5% discount anyway.
When you visit their site it initially displays an offer for a 5% discount if you book online which you can close out of. The Rates and Reservations page is only half accurate, you CAN book your reservation. There are NO rates listed whatsoever. The page has a button that says "Click here to book online". Then you can "choose" whether you want a 5% discount for booking online or a discount for being with AAA, AARP or Good Sam. It doesn't indicate what the discount actually is.
Shouldn't the site list the rates then allow you to select the type of site you'd like to book. Then, as you go through the process shouldn't it then ask if you are either a AAA, AARP, or Good Sam member and list the discount percentage? Shouldn't it also include Active Military or Veteran if a discount is offered for those as well? Then during the checkout process shouldn't the full rate be listed, then show which discounts were applied followed by the final total?
We weren't given a detailed receipt do there's no way of knowing that any discount was actually applied at all.
And then there's the wifi...too cumbersome to fully explain. It took over an hour for me to connect and the lack of real intructions is absolutely ridiculous. Then my husband finally got in and received a malicious content response from a site he uses on a daily basis with multiple data security services such as McAfee, Avast and the built-in...
