Holiday Inn Express & Suites Canyonville — Hotel in Roseburg

We usually stay at the Seven Feathers Casino every year for the past decade, eat there, sleep, gamble. On Aug 6, they were booked and sent us down to Creekside Hotel which they manage as well. While we always got a casino member discount at the casino and sometimes free, Creekside did not offer us any discount and charged us 201.00 plus 50.00 deposit (251.00) and indicated that the deposit would be credited back in 5 or 6 days (which it has not happened yet!). Creekside was still under construction and the rooms there should not even be rented out due to no dining room, no front entrance and no working pool. But we stayed in room 101 which was next to the only door to enter the hotel during the construction. The door was banging all night long and sleeping was impossible. Their beds were horrible, slanting to one side (mattress) and hard as a rock. Their free breakfast was placed on a tray and told to take back to your room since the dining room was under construction. The overnight price was extremely high compared to places like LaQuinta and Holiday express. I always gamble at 7 feathers when i travel back and forth but after this experience, I refused to do so. I would never stay at Creekside again and angry with Seven Feathers for recommending it to us. It was a horrible experience. Their front staff sitting at a coffee table was not pleasant at all. I would not recommend any traveler to stay there. As of today, they still have not refunded the deposit of 50.00. I am going to refused to pay their credit card charge until they do so. I suggest you pass this hotel at this point because of the major remodeling project underway. The rooms have been remodeled, but the beds were very uncomfortable--hard and one of them had a definite slope to the edge. Breakfast is served in a small room, so very crowded if busy and you have to take it back to your room or outside, since the dining room is under construction. The other "amenities" like swimming pool, fitness center, and business center are unavailable due to the remodeling. The only entrance is through one of the back hallways. Unfortunately, you have to walk through the outside smoking area to get inside. We also had the room at the end of the hall (#101) by this entrance, so we heard the door opening and closing frequently since it was the only entrance. We supposedly had a discounted rate because of our casino player's card, but it was still $200, which seems quite high considering the conditions. They also charged a $50 deposit for our dogs (in addition to a $25 fee). The deposit was supposed to be refunded after we checked out, but it still hasn't after 3 days. The reason I'm giving it a 2 star is due to me paying $600 for 3 nights here with my husband and my dogs for our anniversary weekend. First 2 nights were good. 3rd night which is our last we spent hours trying to find things to do to keep busy as there was NO tv for over 6 hours and still going with NO tv! Asked front desk they said they don't know where the access to the roof is. You can only spend so much time in the pool and spa until it gets old! There aren't enough things to do around here to keep busy. Front desk supposedly called and said the dish isn't here it is somewhere else that it's digital tv that they were supposed to be sending a single to melt the snow from the dish.. 🤔🤔 NEVER heard of that but alright. She def wasn't nice about it. I'm highly unhappy to deal with this after spending $600. Next time I'll make sure the weather is clear and if it's not I'll take my $600 else where so I don't have to deal with this again.
