Btw this was 2 weeks ago, as google says so. I haven't been to a winco in prob 10 years. Small cities like coosbay, or even cottage grove, don't really have these awesome stores, better then Wal-Mart most of the time. This day, well as part handicapped, I went in to look for riding carts, none in the entrance side, not sure if there was even a spot for them. Upon not being able to find a driving cart. I decided to grab a shopping cart and hope for the best. I only came in for eggnog and some cases of water. Any time I come into these stores, I feel like I need to go wild, and I usual do. Finding cool stuff like fresh avocados, the sushi section, like finding the orange chicken section. Which is on the same island 🏝. Upon finding cool items left and right and here and there, what should have been a $20 shopping cart, quickly turned into a $280 shopping cart, right? So many good deals on things like power-aid lite for 88 cents. I think it was a piece. Through my struggle of trying to hold myself up while attached to the shopping cart and with the amount of Adrenaline flowing through me. And I held it together as long as I could. I don't know I was in there. Probably an hour and a 1/2. Before making it to the checkout counter and needing to sit down. The reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because the place was crowded. Just like any Walmart these days, except for the awesome low prices & discount deals. But through my time walking through the store. I asked 3 different clerks where the water was and they all kind of gave me a generalized direction of override the bakery. But not exactly anywhere. So I get over to where the bakery is. And I'm seeing the science for water but I'm not seeing it anywhere. I'm also winning around that thing like 6 times asking 2 other people. And I don't know why I didn't see it. But it wasn't until I was checking out and I'm already. Getting ready to pay and everything that and they're like. "Oh, the water's back there on the shelf against the wall." And I'm like "oh. Why can't people just say that instead of just saying over in this general direction" and waving your hand over there? And again it's been 10 years since I've been to a Winco, But I don't remember it ever being a non credit place, meaning they only accept cash or debt. So as I'm standing there in line with $280 where the groceries and stuff like that packed up and ready to go oh, we don't take credit, but we can hold it for you if you like. And I'm looking around hoping that maybe I can spot a fellow soldier that might be able to help a brother around. You know, and I'll give you credit. But nothing like that and people are like. I bawl me and I was just like you know what? It's a 45 minute drive to my house. I guess I could go and come back in an hour and a 1/2. Just to FIND SOME CASH, since all I had was credit.... It's December for crying out loud and Christmas, and everybody's birthday is well, and New Year's is right around the corner, and we just spent a bunch of money on Thanksgiving. Who the h* has cash? I was hoping for more, bigger, and better things from you, Winco, but as much as I might only be able to find certain foods at your store. I probably won't be back... The only relief I got was when I sat down on that place where you bag your goods. An hour and a 1/2 of standing up straight, and the adrenaline was pumping so much I could run 14 bodies. I shouldn't even go longer than 30mins, luckily I was death gripped...
Read moreI want to tell my story and possibly get feedback on what others think. I went to Winco early September this year. I was parked by the carts. While I’m shopping I hear over the intercom that whoever owns a black dodge license plate number blah blah to come to the front. I was already inline to pay and knew it was my car. One of the employees found me in line and confirmed it was my car. Once I finished inside and walked out to my car. They told me one of the employees had sideswiped my car with the machine they use to gather all the carts. He literally swiped it from the rear end to the front end ripping off my passenger mirror. I have been dealing with their insurance company Zurich. They told me that my car is not worth the cost of damage it is going to cost to fix it. They are claiming it a total loss. They gave me the option to keep my car with some money or they will give me money and keep my car. If I were to keep my car, my title will be branded and it’ll leave me with damages to my full passenger side. Which will make it harder to trade in later down the road. Let me also say, my car is paid off and I had no car payment which I worked hard for and was excited about. I am a single mom and cannot do a car payment right now. I drive from roseburg to Myrtle creek for work everyday. I need a reliable car I can trust to have myself and my kids in. I found one for a little more than what they are giving me. I asked them to match the price to the vehicle I found and they are refusing to. I feel like this should be something they should do for me considering I am not in the wrong. And Cannot afford a car payment right now. What would you guys do. I am very frustrated because I have been doing a lot of running around and spending a lot of time trying to figure this out in a timely manor. I do not agree that they can’t match the price to the car I found that is in very much reliable shape and is not much more than what they are giving me now. I am not a complainer, I never write reviews. But this is getting really frustrating for me. Especially when I already had a reliable car that has done me good until winco...
Read moreModerate at best. So Like OK. The staff working in the store is amazing and very helpful. The prices are good on only select items really. Once you do your monthly shopping you realize. The store is designed like Sherms. But selection is closer to what Walmart has for Groceries. Its said they do not take credit cards and that is to pass along savings? Many things are more then Sherms and Walmart. Avoid self checkout. Its poorly designed and managed. To prevent theft they put weight per item like Costco however Winco's checkout and checkout software is joke. Took me twice as long to check out just fifteen items as the machine kept malfunctioning. Then you have to stand around for 15 items for a non existent clerk. I had gone to Walmart earlier and had a full cart and self checked out in near the same time. No joke this is poorly designed. I advise just go through the line until someone in corporate figures out how this is supposed to work efficiently.
So for me I rate the three top stores in this order. Sherms, Walmart and then Winco. Sherms has triple the selection and prices that are better then Winco's. Walmart is easier to use then both Sherms and Winco. But selection is low so it gets second. And Winco, was over hyped, low selection and OK pricing. Not sure how people got away saying amazing prices. Only their store brands we a good deal. They get two stars as they are really nice people and helpful, and the store is nice. But lose three stars for low selection, poor self checkout system, and not great prices. Making the customer experience OK at best. Winco, was obviously designed by someone that never stepped foot in a operating Grocery Store. Top to bottom the most poorly designed store...
