I took my two kids here (our first trip here ever) and there were only a few people inside at the time. My kids got their cake pops which they loved. Then about ten minutes later I got my drink and my daughter got hers. Then 40 minutes later my son is still waiting on his drink. Since we were waiting for a while we had a chance to really look around the store. The store was overall very clean but We noticed flys in the baked goods case. We also noticed that the store filled with more people and the drive through became busy as people were coming and going. My son still had not received his drink. At 3:15 I decided to go up to one of the staff members and inquire about my son’s drink. I told them that we still had not received his drink and that we have been here For 45 minutes. The staff member said that they were only five minutes behind, but I was confused by that since my son was still sitting there with nothing to drink. I sat down and then about five minutes later the staff brought out his drink along with A couple gift cards. She explained to me that someone must have grabbed it by accident. I don’t know if that really happened or if she was just trying to cover for her coworkers because they got so busy and forgot. But either way I felt like she made it right, even though we wasted a Chunk of our day. I will know for next time to look out for our drinks on...
Read moreThe baristas are fairly cold and standoffish. Not overly friendly. (There are a couple of exceptions.) No energy or enthusiasm for doing their job. I used to be a barista for Caribou Coffee in Chicago so I understand how it goes, but it's called customer service for a reason. I arrived at 5:40-ish pm, during the week. There were some empty tables and no one was in line. There were two baristas behind the counter, making drive-thru drinks. I was not greeted or even acknowledged. Approx. 5 minutes later, someone walks up to take my order. I ordered a simple Frappuccino and a juice box for my daughter. My card was charged at 5:45 pm. 15 minutes later, my daughter had finished her juice box and 3 guests who were in line behind me had gotten their drinks but I had not gotten mine. I walked up to the counter and inquired about it. The barista looked around confused for a second then said "oh they're pulling the shots now." I didn't know it took 15 minutes to pull automated shots but said nothing. 9 minutes after that, they finally finished and called my drink. I waited a total of 24 minutes for a Frappuccino in a half empty coffee shop. No apologies were said. I took my drink and left. I hope this was just an...
Read moreRetired barista here. It's my 30th year as a school teacher, but in order to make ends meet, I spent my first 11 years also working nights and weekends at Starbucks in West Palm Beach, Florida 🌴. I was also part of the team that opened Spain's first Starbucks at Atocha-Renfe in Madrid 🇪🇸.
Unfortunately, most Starbucks stores have lost all touch with the "third home" experience of the 1990s and early 2000s, having become mere take-out windows for drive-through and online orders. This store, however, is a wonderful exception. All of the Starbucks partners greet me by name and work hard to make my grande soy hazelnut mocha to perfection ☕. The flavor, texture, weight, and temperature are always on point, and their condiment bar always looks immaculate.
I have spent many mornings here this summer, working on my lesson plans in French 🇫🇷, Latin 🇻🇦, and Italian 🇮🇹. When school starts again in a couple of weeks, I probably won't be able to come in as often, but I will always continue to recommend this store and sing the praises of its team members. In the spirit of Mr Schultz's old-school Starbucks snapshots, 5 stars for legendary service 🏆.
