I recently purchased a new Genesis G80 that despite having a ton of speakers, didn't have anywhere near enough bass. When you buy an expensive car, you may hesitate to just take it anywhere. Especially when we're talking about messing with the often sensitive and complex electrical system.

I visited a few places to get quotes and suggestions to "fix" the bass problem. Everybody usually has some confusion as to what this car actually is, but they quickly determined the best solution for me and my requirements. I only wanted something to "fill in" the lack of bass, not rock the neighborhood. And keep some trunk space for things. Yeah, "I'm old." Some shops seemed intent to sell something unnecessarily custom and expensive.

Elite Customs suggested an 8" JL Powered Sub, wiring kit, line-level adapter, sub volume control, etc. While the sub was on the pricey end, it was just what I had in mind. I also had them wire a detector and dash camera while it was there. Out the door price and availability sounded perfect, so I threw down partial payment so they could order what they needed.

Everything arrived the next day and we had installation scheduled one more day later. This is a small independently owned shop, so the waiting room is basically a couch in their shared office. But it's Round Rock, so there are plenty of other things to do in the area while they get to work.

Yet they kept me involved throughout the process, determined best option/location for mounting of things, and made sure I was happy with the sound. Tuning it as we went along. I ended up moving the dash cam, but they've already offered to move the wire to suite the new location.

These guys are the best!! I met John a few years ago, after just moving to Austin, when I was looking for a shop to re-align my after market headlights. John was working at another shop at the time, and I ended up having a poor experience with other people at the shop and went somewhere else. After the shop closed, John saw a negative review I had written for the old shop and reached out to me on Facebook to let me know he was opening his own shop and would be happy to help me there. I thought this was an outstanding gesture on his part and I really appreciated him taking the time.

A few years went by and I didn't need any custom work until my headlights were damaged in an accident. Covert Collision repaired the damages on my car and let me pick a new after market headlight kit. I asked them to just install the part and I would take it to a custom shop to get the wiring done. My car was ready at about 3 pm the day after Christmas. I called Elite Customs to see if they would be able to look at it and they said they had time that same day (!). I picked the car up and took it to John and his brothers at around 4:30. Despite them closing at 6 they wanted to get started right away and finished the wiring on the spot! I was very impressed with the eagerness of John and Paul and how quickly they finished the work up. Mike chit chatted with me a bit while I waited which was nice and made the time go by faster.

All three brothers are very friendly and really have the customer's best interest in mind. They were easy to work with, even with the collision shop being involved, and in fact said they would have preferred to work closer with the collision shop so the work could have been finished all at once. I definitely can recommend Elite Customs for car stereo installation. I had them install 6 new Sony Speakers for my Honda CRV "premium" sound system that sounded hollow and cheap. My main complaint was that the front factor tweeters were overpowering the sound. John suggested some crossover speakers and added a reducer to the new tweeters in the front. The new speakers sounded so much better but still were a bit lacking in the high range. So I asked him if I could bring the car back and remove the reducers and see if that would help with the highs. I offered to pay him for his extra time (which was less than 30 minutes) but he said it wasn't necessary. He even threw in a quick lesson on speaker technology and why the new tweeters didn't have the same overpowering problem as the cheap factory tweeters. The sound now is so MUCH better.
