My experience was great, until it was time to receive my Covid Test results. My test was Wednesday. They told me I would have results on Friday and that if it was positive, they would call me. I called twice on Friday and the results were not ready. No problem. When I called on Saturday, the person told me that they were unable to log in to the system and that they had to wait for shift change at 9pm. They took my info (again) so they could call me after they log in. I asked if they were the only employee that had access to the results until the next shift and they confirmed. I called again, after 10pm and they finally sent my results, after asking, again. The report showed that the results were available on Friday at 12:34AM and I’m finally seeing them 47 hours later, after 4 polite requests. If I hadn’t been sick and been isolating for a full week, the timing wouldn’t have been frustrating, but I need to know if I should continue to isolate, or not.
My biggest concern is that the test was positive and a medical professional didn’t call me to ask about my current symptoms, who I had been in contact with, am I self-isolating, nor did they advise me as to when I should seek medical attention. After asking, I was told that I can go about normal life, 10 days after initial symptoms. I asked if I need to test again for negative at that time and the answer was “only if my employer requires it”. I’m not saying that we need Covid Police. I am happy that I have the freedom to make my own choices, but without some amount of voluntary contact tracing or warning about self-isolation - especially when talking to the newly infected - there is no wonder why our cases and deaths are...
Read moreDO NOT VISIT THIS ER! I visited this freestanding ER twice in a month for a minor emergency situation and was treated with good care on both occasions. Unfortunately, what they do not tell you is that they are not contracted with any hospital, thus, not in-network for ANY insurance providers. I was charged over $80,000 which was absolutely outrageous, not to mention absolutely greedy charge for a semi-urgent case. Examples like being charged over $4k for "Injections/Immunizations", which actually means per the billing code, "giving medications sequentially via IV" is unbelievable! $15,000 for a CT scan when the cash price offered by the facility is $1,200. Talk about a complete hoax. Or how about being charged $25,000 for "Professional Services", which the billing code actually means "Under observation status". I cannot tell you how outrageous a charge like that is when my vitals were only taken maybe twice and I wasn't even on continuous monitoring. Oh, or let's try an $800 charge for a pregnancy test when the charge for a pregnancy test per the medicare/medicade website is $8.61. I could go on for days about the price comparisons and how I was overcharged and you better believe that I did my homework and looked up every billing code to every charge and I will not be paying ANYTHING close to $80K. So please feel free to contact me, Family ER, because my experience went from great to horrible in...
Read moreThis place isn't worth the wait or the price. My 3 year old daughter busted her chin open on our tile floor. Urgent care stated she needed stitches and we'd have to go to the emergency room. Hospital wait kept pushing us back since it was bad enough. We decided to try them after calling and told we'd be seen immediately. My wife and 3 year old daughter arrived around 9 PM. They were taken back quickly but told a bigger emergency required attention. 4 hours later they were finally seen. They ended up super gluing my daughter's cut. Billing day arrives. They billed my insurance company $4011.00 for the facility $1504.00 for the doctor. I was contacted by Shawn to offer me a "prompt pay discount" for the patient responsibility. Shawn offered $350 if I paid immediately, instead of the fully $725.75. I said that I would do it but needed to see the bills. Admittedly I expressed frustration and disbelief that super glue and a band-aide cost $5515. Two days later I received the bill in the mail with no information regarding "prompt payment discount". When I called and spoke to Shawn, she stated that it would be $450 dollars now and she could take my credit card. To sum it up, Super Glue, a band aide, and a 4 hour wait will result $5515 dollar to your insurance company. They received $2031.75 from my insurance company and want an additional $725.75 from me for a band aide, super glue, and a...
