Shopped Saturday June 19 and was disgusted by the deli and produce dept. I changed my mind ordering deli cold cuts when I noticed Flys 🪰 on the cutting machine! The employee was actually cutting deli cuts while the flys were flying and stationed on the machine! I canceled out on purchasing anything. I was going to buy a bag of gold potatoes 🥔 but didn’t when I saw tons of Gnats inside the bag, flying all in and around the bin!! Pure disgust and unsanitary! I did request and spoke to the Store Manager which was ridiculous on how he made excuses and didn’t seem to care about my concerns! This was around 6:30-7:00 I regret not getting his name, older white man. He said that yes there are many flys and that’s why the deli is going to be blasted/remodeled next week, he said the produce such as potato’s and onion bags come that way with gnats in the bags and that it can’t be helped!! No concerns from this so called Manager whatsoever! I told him I was going to call Corporate office and he responded by saying that’s fine! Read moreThe store is fine. They remodeled recently. However, the delivery counter gets a 3 star reduction. I've never had good luck there. One lady, in particular (heavy set with big glasses) is incapable of remembering how much to slice and on what number. She gets it wrong every week. Even when reminded 2 or 3 times within the same order, she will still weigh up the wrong amount, and/or tge wrong thickness. And I only order a single product, not a list of different meats/cheeses. Anyway, it has gotten so bad that I now shop at the HEB at 130 and Gattis. I've never had a problem with their deli counter, and they are a bigger store with a better selection of fruit. For some reason, green pears are $1 cheaper per pound over there also. It is ashame that it is twice as far to drive, but the red bud/gattis location has been reduce to a convenience store option for me because I can't seem to get good service...
Read moreI've been shopping at the H.E.B. on Gattis School and Red Bud for many years now because it's conveniently close to home. Lately the service at the meat counter has gotten so bad I'm now going to Randalls or the H.E.B. Plus in Hutto to buy steaks. There's rarely anyone at the meat counter to help customers and I've wasted too much time waiting around for someone to possibly show up. Several years ago there was a bell on the counter you could ring to get someone's attention - it kinda worked but now even that's gone. I understand it's not economical to have an associate solely dedicated to working the meat counter, but they really need some way for customers to call for assistance - or better yet make it self-service.
