Spice Jar Kitchen — Restaurant in Round Rock

We have been visiting Spice Jar Fusion Kitchen almost since they have opened the first part of June. We love Indian food and were excited to have something close by serving a variety of options.

We have had the Somosas - chicken and in Somosa Chaat which was great. Tried both Mirchi Bajji and Cut Mirchi which I thought had just the right amount of spice and heat. The Cut Mirchi was great for sharing. Halwa Puri Aloo Chola w Mango my husband loved along with the Chicken Burrito wrap for something different another time. We both munched on the Chicken Pakoda with the daal that came with rice platter for one meal and then had the curry, rice, naan and salad for lunch the next day! I also was able to make a couple of meals from the Chicken Dum Biryanis - great deep rich flavor. The Sliverspoon Chicken roll has great flavor and a little kick of heat to it, we divided that roll to go with our Malsala Dosa’s which again made a very filling meal.

The trailer sets back aways from the main road of Red Bud but the turn onto Highland Estates is well marked with signs and large banners! I have always gotten our food to go since we live close by but they do have lots of picnic tables that are covered and seems like always a good breeze is blowing. I wasn’t originally going to leave a review, but after seeing the way the owners responded to some other feedback, I felt compelled to share my experience. I came for the live band and was told the wait time for food would be about 30 minutes. I understand that large crowds can be overwhelming, but serving cold, subpar food is simply unacceptable. I don’t think previous reviewers expected you to engage in long conversations with them, but rather provide clear updates on their orders and wait times. I received similarly dismissive responses. I ordered a dish at 7:20 PM and didn’t get it until 9:20 PM. I wouldn’t have minded the wait if the food had been good, but it wasn’t. On top of that, I waited nearly 40 minutes just to get my falooda. For a place that serves food, failing to meet basic standards of quality is disappointing. Being busy due to an event you chose to host is not a valid excuse for serving cold and unsatisfactory dishes. I hope the owner takes responsibility and improves planning for future live performances.

Me and my husband went to Spice Jar last night and we enjoyed all the food we ordered. Their customer service is second to none, and the product quality is outstanding, exceeding my expectations. I was completely impressed with Harika the owner and mother of 3 kids and her customer service is unbeatable. Her energy level is unpackable. I highly recommend this business. We the food we order was Paya with Parotha so delicious, have no words can describe the taste. Chicken cheese roll yummy, Omlete with shaame kabab on Sheermal and Chicken Dum biryani made in handi. I have not come across any bad reviews for this place but if you do stumble upon any such review, don’t be swayed by the negative reviews about the food. I honestly enjoyed every bite of it.
