I have shopped there almost exclusively for years. Before that I shopped the Jerome location and elsewhere around the state. I will only go to the Rupert location on certain days so I can be sure to find friendly service. Even that doesn't work. Perhaps because I'm seen so frequently they are comfortable treating me just as a common fixture. I'm not har to pick out, I'm the disabled man usually wearing one of my service caps, they all know me. I'm pleasant to the customers and staff yet the treatment is not always reciprocated. Today, after checking with the cashier on a price confusion I selected an item that was miss marked. I wasn't alone 2 other employees and 1 stocker also helped me look for the correct item but I couldn't get to the bottom shelf to check the UPC, which I normally do here to avoid the confusion, so it wouldn't ring up the way it showed. The manager was summoned and immediately her tone was condescending. She rushed back and returned with a different product, loudly in a condescending and implicating way said, "These are the ones on sale. If you would have lifted the tag you would have seen them!" I stopped her there and told her I wasn't going to be spoken too rudely. I asked the cashier, who is always so very pleased and helpful to total my purchase and I left. Note, the tag was on the bottom of the bottom shelf, nothing was under it until someone moved it. But I don't argue with them on issues like this, if it's on sale it is if not it's not. I returned to speak with the Manager of the store who hadn't yet arrived and the same person tried to debate her actions, both encounters happened in front of other customers. I just asked when the manager will be available and told her I would debate no more. Left, humiliated after being implied dishonest or ignorant. I apologize for the lengthy response, the stars are for the good cashiers like Dawn, not the person insulting me. This isn't the first time either. Shame my business...
Read moreI use to really like this store and it's customer service. I was just reading my former review from a few years ago. But I felt I needed to rereview because this last year the customer service has gone way downhill. All of the employees look angry or upset or bored. I seldom see a single smile the entire time I'm there and I'm there a lot. I try to converse casually with employees but they either don't respond or they have earphones in their ears and can't hear you. When they do respond it's short and curt. I don't know why they're all so unhappy but it's worse than Walmart and that's saying something. Then they post things in their sale paper but when you go to the register they can't find it in their computer so they don't honor it. This has happened to me three times. Or they'll put something in their sale paper and then in really tiny fine print that I can't read with my eyesight they said you have to buy two or more or five or more or something. This place knows zero about customer service. It feels as if they're trying to scam you with everything they sell. Recently a friend of mine started working in the deli and omg do not eat food out of that deli. She showed me pictures of what really goes on back there and there's mold everywhere and they don't change their food out throughout the day when it expires. She tells me their deli stuff sits there all day and then gets put back into a bucket to be sold the next day as well. Whatever you do do not eat out of their deli. I've seen the pictures and I gagged. Gross! I'm really sad because I use to really liked it here. Now I'll never shop here again. Now I'd rather drive into Burley to Smith's or Walmart. At least there I'm...
Read moreEverytime I shop there. One or two items will ring up the incorrect price. BEWARE of their advertised special signage as it has been very misleading on several occasions. Example: They had signage saying ALL Norbest frozen turkeys .79 lb. all others 1.18 lb. Never once did it say excludes Norbest frozen turkey breast 2.49 lb. These Norbest frozen turkeys were all in the same floor freezer bin along with several other brands. Everytime I have spoken to the manager on duty at the checkout about their signage I get the same response. "That excludes that item." Just because that particular turkey didn't come with legs or a back bone plate attached to it I ended up paying full price. I was in a hurry and didn't have time to argue a no win situation or go back to get a full sized turkey. They also have the famous must buy this amount in small print under the large price of the item. Another one is that you have to have their app to get the rewards perk price even though you are a rewards member. Deceptive practices to get you one way or another. They may have gotten twelve more dollars from me this time, but overall it will cost them more because one or more customers will avoid them now. It might cost me a little bit more in fuel to drive five miles down the road to Smith's but overall I'll save in...
