I recently on July 3rd, 2024 walked into McNeil &Reedy in Rutland VT for the very first time and not only did we have the very best of customer service I’ve ever seen in my lifetime, no joke this is fact.John and Jim, owners of McNeil & Reedy in Rutland VT treated us so kindly , friendly , and with the upmost support and respect I was so grateful for their help from greet to their expertise for our best options in what we were looking for . I had never bought a suit for anyone and my sons first ever experience with a beautiful tailored suit that thankfully John & Jim were there to help and guided us right through the entire process and made it fun and fast and comfortable, hands down the best we’ve ever been treated by anyone ir any business . Thank you for taking the time and giving us the help and attention you did , you make forever customers and friends , we will forever be customers and I will happily refer and suggest to anyone when ever given the opportunity and send them your way. Within the first 5 minutes of me entering this store, I could tell why they've been in business for as long as they have - professionalism and folks who really enjoy the work they do.

Due to some unfortunate events, I needed to get a suit quickly, and found McNeil & Reedy online and made the drive over an hour to visit.

The man I worked with not only got me measured up, fitted and marked up for fitting - I was also offered a Veterans discount that I did not know existed.

That alone, was enough to win me over completely, but they went the extra mile by getting my suit tailored, laundered and ready to go by the very NEXT day. All because I explained to him why I needed the suit as quickly as possible. I expected maybe 4-7 days for a turnaround, minimum.

The kindness, professionalism, and just sheer know how that I was shown here was to me, above and beyond. But for McNeil & Reedy, it was probably business as usual.

I would like to also add that the suit fits perfectly, with no need for further alterations. I have never felt this good in dress clothes in a long time, and I felt like a million bucks in that new suit.

Being disabled, I like to check and make sure I could get around places in my chair if necessary. You could easily enter this business while in a wheelchair, and there was plenty of room to maneuver and browse on the inside. Having grown up in the area, I had actually never set foot in the store because it was a “men’s store” and didn’t think there was anything there for me :) While downtown on Friday night, the storefront happened to catch my eye. I loved the Vermonter sweatshirt and also noticed they carried Ranger Station, a favorite of mine! My mom and I went back Saturday morning to check it out and we had such a good time. I loved the store’s vibe and noticed they carried some great brands! It was lovely chatting with the two gentlemen/brothers and learning about the history of the shop and the future. It was so nice to see a shop that had been around for almost 70 years evolving and thriving in downtown Rutland! And ladies, don’t be fooled, they have an amazing apothecary selection and I actually walked away with the sweatshirt, a Stetson hat, hand soap and a new eau de parfum-ghost ranch by west third brand which is my new signature scent!
