Home Depot: the place where houses stop so passengers can get on and off as they travel around the county. Oh, wait, it’s just a big box store that sells some of, but not all of what you need to complete a home building project? Yeah, I think that’s right. You want some help while you’re there wondering around looking for answers? Sorry, but we all decided a long time ago that saving a couple bucks was a good trade off for service, so you’re on you own. The good thing is that with this hands off approach you can literally walk around the store building your creations using their materials and tools and revel in joy as the person at the check out counter tips their head in confusion at what you dumped on the counter. Oh wait, that doesn’t exist anymore. You’ll have to scan all the parts you assembled yourself. Okay have fun, and make sure you put hardware back in the wrong bins after you open them up to try them out.

I am sure my complaint is the same one many many people have with the Rutland Home Depot…. 90% of the associates are either clueless or have zero desire to help. Perfect example… I went there today after looking online for step-treads.. online says there are 44 in stock. Well, there was zero out on the floor so after waiting around for 20 minutes for help a young associate shows up, I ask him if there are more and if so can I get them… his response was “ I don’t think so….. “ He then walked off…. God help us.

I've had mixed experiences at the Rutland Home Depot. On the good side there is a very helpful associate in the electric department that runs around on a scooter. He is very knowledgeable. However, when picking up a fencing order placed on the web it was a nightmare. Took four hours and we had to settle for the wrong product because of various issues the store was having. Update.. went back today and everyone was friendly and helpful. Only problem was no baskets at the front entry.

Very disappointed! I had to reschedule my measurement appointment twice! The first appt, they didn't show, nor did they call. The second appt, the associate called 15 minutes before his arrival to cancel the appt. He had a flat tire! I called the Rutland Store to reschedule for a third time. The phone rang 42 TIMES & NO ONE picked up. I finally called corporate & asked if they closed since no one was answering. Corporate called the Rutland store & guess what? They answered because Corporate was calling!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! The third appt, he arrived. Estimate was emailed 2 days later. $500.00 more than their competitor..for the same carpet!!!!

Home Depot requested a $25.00 refundable deposit at the time I scheduled the appt. It was paid. I called to request that my deposit be credited to my credit card used & was told it was nonrefundable! How about that? They cancelled 2 appts & then refused to refund my deposit? Apparently this is how their carpet department operates. It needs a revamping or one good flush!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT FOR ANY CARPET INSTALLATION.

NOW, THIS IS BAD BUSINESS!

I needed paint & am inexperienced as to what kind, etc. I arrived at Home Depot/Rutland and was greeted by RICH/ paint dept. He asked a few questions and within minutes, he was assisting me with my selection of paint. Ten minutes later I was cashing out & on my way. NOW THAT IS SERVICE.

Once again, I highly recommend Home Depot & their associates. I bought what I needed and felt confident that I knew how to complete the project and was THANKED for my purchase! You can't ask for better service than that!

Today, I was completely blown away by the delivery team, John & Tyson. They were professional, friendly, on time & actually knew what they were doing. Installation was a snap! Fred, the salesman was outstanding & I will seek him out for my next appliance purchase. This purchase & delivery experience was OUTSTANDING. Purchase and installation were FLAWLESS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT!

I compared different businesses as I am purchasing new appliances. I searched the web and decided to call Home Depot in Rutland, VT. The first attempt to contact them resulted in an unanswered call of 21 rings! I tried again & still no answer after 20 rings. I then called corporate & asked if they were experiencing issues or did they close or better yet, did they file for bankruptcy! I was immediately transferred to the store and THEY ANSWERED THE PHONE!!! This is not good business. How can they assist customers with potential sales, if they ignore a ringing phone? Somebody .....anybody in management should bring this to the associates attention. I have made many purchases...high end purchases, at Home Depot and NEVER had such a negative experience. Not answering the phone and/or ignoring customers is not a wise and lucrative business move. They need to get their act together & work when they are being...

We went to buy paint at 3pm. There was no one in the paint department so we asked the woman at self checkout if someone was available. She said the person who was there had to go to customer service because there was a managers meeting. She said there was no one available to help. That they would be out of the meeting at 330. We could buy the paint but could not get the color added or shaken. We were like "what??". No apology no concern that a customer wanted to spend money but no one to mix it??? We live 8 minutes away so we dropped all the paint we wanted and checked out..bewildered by such inappropriate service. Another gentleman came 35 minutes to Rutland to buy paint and had to wait until the "managers" meeting was done. I worked in the service industry for 50 years..if we said there is no one to help you because there's a managers meeting the business wouldn't last. I know these are tough times to find help. Home Depot is our go to place for all our needs related to home updates, repairs, gardening items and within the past two weeks all the materials for redoing 2 bathrooms. We spend a bit of money there..consistently. My husband is a veteran and we appreciate our discount. In the past Home Depot Rutland has been very service friendly and helpful. Lately it has been challenging to find someone to help..plus it seems a bit disorganized and cluttered. I accept that help is hard to find..which is common in other places also, but, having a managers meeting at 3pm with no one to cover seems to be a poor decision for the management to make. We will go back because we are fans of Behr Paint, also love having a home depot in Rutland as we like the availability of items that are not easy to find in Rutland. But ... I try to make sense of no one being available to mix our paint. I feel for those who travel a distance and have time limitations...and come to your store to be told.."no help available"..and left hanging .. with no apology. I rather spend my money in Rutland..so...I'm just wanting the management to know of our experience. Perhaps it will encourage you to think about your customers. There are other options in Rutland ..but..I have found service to be lacking in many stores due to...

Ordered a fridge through online, and this store coordinated delivery. Talk about a terrible experience. At first, the truck they brought couldn't make it up the driveway, okay, no big deal. They reschedule with the store for 2 weeks later on a Saturday. Saturday comes, nothing, no fridge, no call, nothing. After calling in, apparently the fridge was delivered to the store, and their delivery teams don't work weekends, so Monday at 8, they'll call to schedule delivery. Monday comes, no call. At 11 am, I called, after a few minutes of being shuffled between people, the person on the line says they're going to speak to a manager, and will call me back with the planned delivery time. An hour passes, nothing. 1230pm, I call again, get connected to a manager, who says the person who is coordinating this is out to lunch, so he'll find out and call me back. Okay. 1pm, finally a call from the person who was supposed to call at 8 am, who says they'll be here in an hour. The delivery team finally arrives. Fridge is dented. I accept delivery on condition they replace the drawer. Then they help me move it in, and don't help me get it connected, which I payed for "expert installation"! Not a whole lot of expertise happening. Then they go to leave, without taking the old fridge, which I had also paid for, and they had no idea. They had to call in before they would take it. This whole experience has been shockingly unprofessional, and frankly disappointing, as we got a fridge with dents after we payed thousands of dollars for a new appliance. I will note that the delivery team was courteous, if a little out of...
