Blick Art Materials — Local services in Sacramento

The best art supply store in the area! One of the last good large art supply store chains still around. Excellent low prices for quality items! Over the top customer service! You can indeed check local store stock (but not prices) on the website, but please be aware that the items offered on the Blick website are internet only direct ship prices that are not valid at ANY of the local stores. That said, the stores still have awesome prices on quality items! For instance, the metal frame art desk I was looking for was $310 list but $167 in store regular discount. This is the ONLY Blick store for Sacramento. There are two more in San Francisco and one in Oakland and one in Berkeley. This is THE go to Art Supply store for all high school and college art students in the area as well as local artists. Great friendly knowledgable and helpful staff! I found a great art desk that was out of stock. They took my name to call me when it was back in stock. They called me RIGHT AWAY when they received three more in. They held the item for me. They have a item hold and call back notebook with notes to call people back like this. I have not seen quality customer service like this...

After a few years of retirement, I've decided to learn a new hobby...lino printmaking. There are quite a few tutorials offered on YouTube, which is why I have come to shop at Blick Art Materials. I came in to town with my wife for a quilt expo, and afterwards, I decided to checkout what they had in supplies for my new hobby. Walking into this place, and prepare to be amazed at the amounts of products that are available for whatever your artistic needs may be. Paper, brushes, cleaners, different types of pencils, assorted mediums for painting...acrylics, oils, watercolors, etc.. And, yes I did find a starter kit from Flexcut, which comes with an assortment of blades, handle. tool tool and instruction manual. I told my wife that I would definitely be coming back again, once I try my new kit, and will need additional supplies for my new hobby. So, if you're looking for that special kind of brush, paint, or, just trying to get yourself motivated to try something new, stop by Blick Art Materials and get ready...

I don't get to go into Blick locations very often but I stopped in this store and kinda went shopping crazy grabbing many things I needed to replenish and some new stuff I've been meaning to try. The staff were very friendly and I felt welcome as I spent entirely too much time browsing everything. Prices are a bit up there but I never walk into an art store expecting to pay what you pay online. I like the interaction with the supplies before making a decision when possible, and I found myself chatting with other shoppers about items and it was just a refreshing experience all in all.

Be sure to become a member of their preferred customer program because they do when price matches for you at checkout if certain items are marked as so on their website. I saved like $30 unexpectedly which was great.

So verdict: Stop in here and try not to leave with like 10...
