Jack's Fruit & Meat Market — Local services in Saginaw Charter Township

I had a really bad experience buying a full case of drumsticks. It was handled only by an employee until it was in my vehicle. When I got home, I immediately realized that the box was not a full 40#. I opened the sealed clear plastic bag they had put it in, and took the lid off the box, to find the inner bag open and half the meat missing. They accused me of taking the meat out myself, blamed me for not realizing they had given me an open, half empty box, even though the customer isn't allowed to handle it until it's paid for. John, the manager, suggested that I should shop elsewhere, because He couldn't sell the meat I had returned. I offered to purchase the open box in addition to b the unopened box I had paid for, and he ignored me pointedly and dumped the open box into the trash. I'm hoping the other Jack's has a better group of employees. If not, I will have to take John's advice and...

Jack's Markets are locally owned and do an awesome job especially with their meat departments. With their huge volume, they offer consistent quality at very affordable prices. I am one of the Cicinelli family members and we were suppliers for them as they were growing their business in the Great Lakes Bay Region while the Cicinelli family was expanding from our roots in Merrill Michigan and reached out north, south, east and west of Saginaw. They are definitely an awesome locally owned business and have added product lines that I was recommending for my patients in my various roles as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator over the decades. We shop at Jack's 4-5 times a week for our produce and meat. Jack's products are fresh and often local. The guys/women at the meat counter know us and are always welcoming and helpful. The checkout clerks are friendly and efficient. We love Jack's. Today a new young checkout girl was either having a bad day or did not like her job. I questioned my bill and a manager was kind enough to double-check it for me. I can relate to both but it is not a reason to be rude. Perhaps she could use some mentoring.
