Plaza Lanes Bowling Center — Local services in Saint Charles

My family and I have always enjoyed our time at this bowling alley. However lately there is an upped police presence there. We understand why they need to be there, however it has hindered our experiences the last few times we have been there within the last month. The officers have made it very obvious that they’re watching myself and my family, when we aren’t doing anything wrong and just trying to have a fun time. It feels a bit intimidating, as they’ve come out from behind the desk and stood deliberately behind our lanes, even when there are rowdier groups of people there. Again, we understand why there should be a police presence there, but it feels more like they’re trying to intimidate families and people enjoying their bowling fun.

Lanes were good, food and bar was convenient. Seating for bowling is not well thought out though. Teams have to sit on different levels. Poor idea. UPDATE 12/21/2023 - after bowling league for several weeks, it's apparent the lane equipment is poorly maintained. Return mechanisms foul balls with crumbled sticky black streaks/patches, pin sets consistently need to be re-racked and lane surfaces are inconsistent with varied oil patterns. Currently they have a very limited menu on Mondays but at least they're still open. My Chef's salad was fresh and huge! I had to ask for a box and take at least half of it home. My husband ordered the ribeye steak sandwich and fries and said it was fantastic. My sister said the same thing about her cheese burger and fries. We were really looking forward to a steak dinner though. Kinda disappointed that was not available on a Monday evening. Our waitress was fairly new, yet fantastic. Yet we really miss Cathy! She's the best!!! We hope she comes back...
