Went there this evening... might be back again before they close.
The empenadas are amazing but I will get to that in a moment. Let's talk about the owner for a second. This man is so friendly and so excited to share his food. Walked in and he greeted me warmly. Once I said it was my first time he walked me through the menu, the incredients, everything. You can hear the enthusiasm he has for his food and it sets an expectation for great homemade food which he delivers.
On to that food. My wife and I got the beef and chicken, spicy and mild, along with the spinich and ham/cheese/pineapple empenadas. The spicy ones have a really robust flavor but the favorite was the spinich. Creamy/cheesy filling and light pastry crunch. All were good but that spinich one will end up in every order going forward.
We also got the chimichurri. This stuff has such a unique flavor to it. Little bit of spice from it. The one thing I wish is that they sold small side orders of it i stead of the big jars. Because I am staring at the jar and considering just eating it with a spoon. Don't you judge me. If you had you you have had the same thought too.
Can't wait to try their desserts at their new location. Will be back. Often......
Read moreWow, what nice people. And very tasty empanadas. Their menu is very small (only 5 items, I think) so my son and I split one of everything. Each one was better than the next. Tip for you: Even if you don't do spicy, try the spicy pie. See, here's the thing. Some peppers add heat only. Some don't add any spice at all. Some add heat and don't taste all that good (jalapenos, IMO). And some add a little heat but really improve the flavor of the dish. That's what you're getting here. Just try the spicy one. Get a larger drink if you have to. The crust on these pies are flaky and cooked perfectly. You can tell the flavors are carefully chosen and mixed perfectly. Oh and make sure to talk to the gentleman behind the counter. He's a hoot and he loves his job and his food. But make no mistake, his wife is the one who came up with and perfected the recipes. She's the very pretty lady who does all the cooking and laughs to herself while her husband puts on a show up front. I think I would love to hang out with these two, but I can assure you that I'll be back for more...
Read moreWe were there with 4 other couples and were greeted with 2 friendly and helpful waitresses. We started with cocktails which were unique to Argentina. My wife ordered a bottle of Argentine blended red wine which I shared after my Mi Buenos Aries cocktail...a blend of red vermouth, gin and Compari which was very refreshing. I ordered a spicy steak empanada and a steak Napaltana with red sauce, cheese and ham. One of our friends got the plain breaded flat steak. Both of our steaks were tough to chew which is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. The empanada was filled completely with ingredients and I know they were made to order and not sitting around. My wife had the caprisi empanada and loved it. The rest of our group ordered a variety of cocktails and empanadas. Everyone loved the drinks and the empanadas. Two friends ordered dessert and shared dolce leche and ice cream which were fabulous. We'll be...
