I had a fantastic experience with Used Jewelry selling two sets of sterling silverware along with a sterling Mexican coffee/tea set. A total of around $6k.

I had done my homework, so I knew what to expect regarding the intricacies of valuation. Plus, I had already visited another dealer right down the street from us (the Scotsman) and was actually planning on going with them. But when I made a follow-up phone call to clarify some details, the buyer at Scotsman was so indifferent and unhelpful I decided to see what else was out there. So glad I did!

I made a phone enquiry to Used Jewelry and Tracy (I believe) was so friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable that I decided to ditch The Scotsman and brought my silver collection to Used Jewelry Buyer instead. A whole different experience.

When I showed up the next day, Tracy was occupied, so Charles handled my affairs. He was just as friendly and knowledgeable and completely transparent about the fee structure (with sterling, dealer’s cut is approx 20%). He weighed all the silver right in front of me on the counter. He helped me (dispassionately, no hard sell) consider the pros and cons of taking our Mexican coffee/tea set to an auction house (I nixed it). Also: while the Scotsman had offered only .25 ozt for our sterling dinner knives (instead of the more standard .5 ozt), Used Jewelry matched what I had read online.

I recently visited Used Jewelry Buyer on the Main Streets of St. Charles with a small collection of jewelry I had obtained. I’ll be the first to admit—I had no idea what I was walking in with or what to expect. My knowledge was minimal, and frankly, I was worried that might make me an easy target.

What I experienced instead was something rare: complete honesty, patience, and integrity. The staff took the time to walk me through everything, explaining the value and materials clearly without pressure or jargon. They could have easily taken advantage of my lack of knowledge, but they didn’t. In fact, they treated me with the utmost fairness and transparency.

It’s not easy finding businesses that operate with this level of ethics, especially in areas where trust is everything. I walked out feeling respected and confident that I’d been treated more than fairly. If you're looking to sell jewelry and want to deal with people who genuinely care about doing right by their customers, this is the place.

I generally don't write online reviews, but as my experience in working with Brian was so outstanding, I felt this was an important thing to share. I sold some jewelry several months ago, and from start to finish, Brian's professionalism, responsiveness and demeanor were exemplary. He took his time in walking me through the process and explaining his quote, returned calls and texts promptly, and made the logistics as simple as they could possibly be. As I live in another part of the country and had never been to his shop, sending my jewelry to someone I had never met would have been a huge leap of faith. But by the time I packed up my valuables and sent them off, I had absolutely no doubts about the integrity and trustworthiness of Used Jewelry Buyers.
