🩴🇺🇸 Welcome to the St. George Island Trading Co., where the souvenirs are snazzier than my grilling apron and the beach gear’s hotter than my dad jokes at a PTA meeting. Located right across from the Cape St. George Lighthouse, this place is the crown jewel of coastal commerce—a red, white, and retail paradise.
I strutted in like a flip-flop-wearing founding father, ready to stock up on beach essentials and maybe snag a t-shirt that screams “I survived dad’s sunscreen lecture.” And let me tell ya, this store’s got more variety than my collection of novelty ties. Boogie boards? Check. Sunglasses? Check. Bathing suits so patriotic they practically hum the national anthem? Double check.
The vibe? Imagine if Betsy Ross opened a surf shop. It’s got that laid-back island charm with a splash of “I could live here if my HOA allowed hammocks.” You’ll find everything from airbrushed sand dollars to mugs, shot glasses, and jewelry that sparkles brighter than my forehead after SPF 100. And yes, they’ve got St. George Island t-shirts so comfy, I considered replacing my entire wardrobe with them.
Staff? Friendlier than your Aunt Patty after two piña coladas. They’ll help you find the perfect souvenir, whether it’s a hoodie for those breezy beach nights or a keychain that says “I heart sand in my shoes.” And if you’re renting beach gear, they’ve got you covered faster than I cover my grill during a surprise rainstorm.
Open daily until 10 PM, this place is perfect for those late-night impulse buys—like that flamingo-shaped floatie you didn’t know you needed until you saw it winking at you from the shelf.
If you’re looking for a one-stop shop that combines beach vibes, patriotic pride, and enough dad-joke material to last a lifetime, the St. George Island Trading Co. is your go-to. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to salute your shopping bag and say, “God bless retail therapy.”
If you’ll excuse me, I’m off to iron my new souvenir t-shirt—with the same enthusiasm I use to iron absolutely...
Read moreIcecream advice I always feel if your going to pay a high price for a scoop of Icecream you should at least get a decent size scoop...Well I was very disappointed with my cone first off the man that Scooped it should be alittle bit more happy no one wants to see frowning the he Scooped me my Icecream and I looked at that and saw the ice chunk and since he didn't pack the Icecream in the cone the chance of it falling off the cone was pretty good..I handed the cone back to the girl and said really do you really think this is a 3 dollar scoop she put more in. I really don't want to write reviews that are bad but that's how they need to know the Customers are the bread and butter I know first hand I own my business and if the Customer is upset with anything I back up my word. If your going to charge what you do then give the Customer what...
Read moreWe frequent this store a couple of times a year. I was charged a $2.34 convenience fee which I believe was for a bag. I asked the woman about the convenience fee and she couldn’t answer the question. I told her we didn’t need the bag and asked if she could take it off. She was somewhat unfriendly about me questioning the charge and told me it was taxes when the taxes were a separate line item. I was clearly frustrated by extra fees that no one can explain. The store selection is good but you clearly need to work on training your staff. I don’t want to pay for a bag that I will never use. I thought the way the cashier handled the situation could have used improvement. She half hazardly asked if I wanted to take the charge off at the end which I declined. I don’t like being lied to. I’m not sure that I will be...
