So itâs been about 4 months now but I feel like people need to know what a terrible hospital this is. I was pregnant and had to be induced I was about a week late. For one the nurses are terrible, their bedside manner is horrific. I really didnât want to get the epidural but things were taking a while it had been about 36 hours and I was having off the chart, five minute long contractions so I finally gave in. The first guy that came to do the epidural was very rude, tried to make my fiancĂ© leave the room, stuck me 3 times AND DIDNT EVEN GET IT IN. As Iâm laying there flailing around in the bed the nurse says âjust press the button for more epidural.â I shouldnât have been able to move in the first place so they should have known something wasnât right but I just kept pressing that button and flailing around some more. It took them TWELVE hours to realize that the epi was just leaking out into the bandage and then it was another 2 hours before the other anesthesiologist could make it to my room. Because apparently they only have one anesthesiologist on the weekends and she was in surgery. And on top of all of that after it was all over and we were in recovery we ordered some food to be brought up and the bread on my sandwich was moldy and my milk was expired. I honestly donât care if Iâm dying I will NEVER and I mean ever go back to...
Read moreSo if someone is doing a review for my business-i would want them to be honest and fair. That is my intentions here. So i believe many locals here would not give Lakeland a good review, and that had been my position, up until my 88yr old father went into septic failure due to a perforated colon. Up til this point he had been a very active, healthy man. He was in extreme pain and one sick man as we brought him into Emergency. We, the family felt it took to long to determine the issue and more then 24hrs later, they decided to do exploratory surgery as he was declining rapidly. From this point forward- i was very satisfied as Dr Rosbach is an amazing surgeon and has done an excellent job in follow up--5 stars for him. The ICU and the nurses in ICU did a wonderful job--and they get 5 stars. The level of care out of ICU-and the post surgery floor is where things get a bit shaky, so 3 stars here, although some great and caring nurses. I dont think it is the nurses issue-but management overloading staff. One of the biggest things, and we experienced this with my stepmom, who has since passed away, is they want you out- before you are ready. This is when you realize--its not about the care, its about the insurances, whether Medicaid, Medicare or whom evers. Finally--Lakeland ...
Read moreI live about 45 min from this hospital. In the past if I had issues I would go to one of the hospitals in Kalamazoo. After hearing people talk very positive about this hospital I decided to come to Lakeland. I know there are negitive reviews, but I also understand that their are things that Dr's and nurses are simply unable to do. Last night, I came in for an issue that I knew was something, and has been bothering me for a while. They got me in quickly and the front desk workers where professional and kind. It did take them a while to get me a room, but that is only because of the Covid outbreak. Which is not something I blame on the hospital. The Doctor came and gave me some news that really was hard to digest. But, I will deal with that. I think in our culture we forget how hard it is to deal with life and death on a daily basis. I can say for certain that the staff at this hospital care. When we are inconvenienced they are as well because they want what's best for you. I am still in the hospital, and was very surprised by these...
