Mo's Tropical Wholesale & Deli — Local services in Saint Paul

I really like the deli here and the ready-made Hmong food here. There are dining tables and chairs in the eating lounge, and it is family friendly. During the times we visited, the place was clean and organized. The cashiers are nice and friendly. If you want to order any ready-made food from the deli, I recommend ordering during the early hours. When we visited again in the later afternoon, the food they were selling had been sitting there for the whole day already and didn't taste as good when made fresh.

They have variety of produce here from fruits and common Asian vegetables. You can purchase it by the bulk, so if you only need one of a produce, you can literally buy the one by weight. They are particularly serving Hmong produce and groceries, but they do carry a variety of pan-Asian foods here.

They also have a small grocery section of noodles, snacks, sauces, and household supplies, etc... Things you can find at an ordinary Asian grocery store.

I think the reason why I give it just 4 stars and not 5 is because I did see a lot of expiring produce. Some of them were on sale, while some are still full priced where it didn't look too good anymore. I'm sure if you ask to negotiate the price, they would give it to you.

There is a minimum purchase fee if you plan to use either a credit or a debit card. Not sure how much the fee is now.

Overall, I recommend this place for those who are on a budget to shop quality produce here, eat, and do your normal Asian...

Mo's is a great Asian market! The store is much cleaner and well organized than two other Saint Paul "big name" Asian grocery stores on East University Ave near Western.

Where to go to buy exotic fruits, vegetables and spices/ingredients normally not grown here? Mo's Market of course! They have it all. Even cooking utensils, woks of all sizes, dish sets, knives...you name it. The place is huge with two levels(they can be accessed via short flight of stairs or a nice wide two level easy ramp)with product being brought in as you're shopping. They even have a small deli area to sit down and have a bite to eat. Besides the fruit/vegetables area they also have a freezer section where you can buy smaller, prepped portions ready to be served...very busy place. Get there earlier to get a good parking spot. From huge Jack fruits to mangos and passion fruits...Mini pineapples to tons of noodles of all sizes...drinks, juices and smoothies...spices and ingredients that I've never heard of...chilis from floor to ceiling.
