I needed to get a car key programmed in a hurry. This Ace location completely wasted my time. The "helpful place" isnt as friendly as it once was. I won't shop Vision Ace again.
I called Ace on MLK at the suggestion of the car dealer because I needed to replace a programmed car key that was breaking in the ignition b4 I got stranded. Ace was across the street from where I was parked. The dealership was a 20 minute drive.
When I called at 3:28pm, Blue xferred me to the key dpt to see if they could help me. I was on hold for 10 minutes listening to recordings of how Ace goes the extra mile to get you what you need before the call system sent me back to Blue. She apologized for the long wait and put me on hold again. A minute later, another woman got on the phone. I explain the urgency of my situation and she starts giving me prices. It took another 10 minutes while she checked availability. She tells me they dont have the key fob in stock but they do have the valet key. Then, she puts me on hold, comes back and tells me they cant do it until 830am the next day. She gives no further explanation. When I ask why, I hear silence and then someone else gets on the phone and says hello. There was no professional hand off or introduction. It feels like I'm starting all over. I ask what happened to the woman I was talking to and Im told "she got called away." I start over again with the new person on the phone and he ultimately tells me that he is one of only 3 people trained to make the special keys and he leaves in 10 minutes so I wont make it there in time. I tell him that I can make it there bc Im across the street where I have been for the last 20 minutes talking with them. He tells me the programming takes 30 minutes to complete and since he didnt have authorization to stay any later, no one would help me until the next day. It didnt matter that Id been dealing with them for 20 minutes already and now that investment was a waste of my time. This last employee Steve didnt seem to care anymore about me getting stranded than the one I talked to before him. This isnt the helpful place it used to be. Maybe train more people and hire kind people? Just my .02. Blue was the most kind person of them all. Too bad she doesnt have special key training. Maybe I could have gotten some help from...
Read moreIt's a dam shame that Sears and Craftmans tools onto everyone's plate. I'm calling any news team who will listen and Craftmans tools managers is gonna get it as well. Been getting boxes of tools for Christmas as an 8 year old youngster, from my Dad, then bought on my own through out my life, and I've been sent all over the city with places who were told that they can't break open a set and replace your broken tools, that any mechanic out there that has there tools, and have been breaking there knuckals and bleed on the job and this has come down to 2/3 % or more of my tools are no longer available and no one is replacing them ! Channel 8 WILL Be hearing from me. I'm gonna make it known across the country what they are pulling , and of course Craftsman and Sears are losing the ass and soon there won't be either one, there pockets are full now. But I'm also sure I am not the only one, Maybe president Trump aught to put his stamp on how two major business are sticking it up the American's ass for the profits they will close with. How do people trust any big business around now when this happens. On top of that who is next or should I say the chocolate icing on the top, so it goes down better without the people we've all counted on since I was a youngster and got boxes of Craftsman (jerk), from my father at the age that I could read and hand him a 9/16ths wrench, hell most kids today know more about games of being on the battlefield and not working. They would rathe be in "Mortal Combat" that doing anything that requires and thinking or actions like understanding what comes after a 3/8 the wrench. No wonder we have a problem with the youngsters who know how to pull a trigger instead of having to ask someone, " what is a digital caliper? We're all doomed. What a wonderful World. The great Satchmo new it would come to this. Well I really need to go read my Bible and count my blessings, no...
Read moreI get after the hurricane things were hectic and I expected delays. However, I order a chainsaw 10/15 from STIHL's website, and received confirmation number. Store even called me to tell me the chainsaw was ready for pickup on 10/20. I went to pick up on the 23rd. Service guy has no clue about my order or where it went. Said only the managers can help me. Already spent 45 minutes waiting in line just to tell me they don't have it, so I left and called the next day. Was able to get one of the managers on the phone, and she informed me she'll check, and either her or the other manager will call me back to see if the product has arrive on the next shipment. Got the call the next day from them to tell me that order was canceled immediately after putting in the order. Just can't believe it took 10 days just to tell me my order was never processed, even after receiving a confirmation number, and getting a call to say my order was ready for pick up. What a complete waste of time! I should of just went with either home depot or lowes. At least you can track your orders through their app, and they will deliver to your house. I just ended ordering an echo chainsaw through home depot. I just wish i would have done that on the 15th so i can start clearing debris. now i got to wait another week before i can get my hands on a chainsaw. If you're ordering a STIHL tool through this store, don't do it. You can't track your online order, and more than likely you will NOT receive it or they will sell it to someone else. Even called Stihl to see what happened. They informed me their customer service is only as good as your local Ace Hardware. Such a disappointment, I wonât be purchasing from Ace or...
