Holy moly - I just completed my first camping trip in the keys at Bahia Honda state park and it was phenomenal! If you love adventure and want an opportunity to meet new ladies, I HIGHLY recommend any of the camping trips Christine Van Nuys puts together with her Wandering Adventures Kayak Tours . You can do just one of her many group kayaking excursions locally or you can sign up for one of her camping adventures (I did the fort de soto one a couple years ago too). It’s ladies only and she brings the tents and kayaks and cooking gear - you just bring your food and clothes basically - and whatever else you might like to have. We had the opportunity to rent bikes (highly recommend) which made it easier to get to the showers and get to the beaches from the site. Christine knew all the snorkeling spots and checked in on the weather every day for us to plan our day. you could choose to go with the group or go do your own thing! I did some snorkeling, hiked up to the broken railroad, swam a couple times at the bayside beach and booked a tour at the marathon The Turtle Hospital to see some sea turtles and learn about rescue efforts (also recommend that!) we took a drive down to key west one day too and ate great food and watched the sunset and danced the night away! It felt like adult summer camp and I'll never forget it! as a group we ate shrimp 5 different ways, got up early stargazing, kayaked, hammocked, hiked, biked, danced, read books, spotted keys deer, a sea turtle, a conch shell, iguanas, pelicans, nurse sharks, roosters, alligator, flamingos, butterflies and more. I’m sure I’m forgetting something but the key is it sells out quick so keep an eye on her page and sign up! I’ll definitely be doing it again 🌊🐢🪸💃🐊🐠🦌🧜‍♀️🥰 we were all strangers when we road-tripped down! We...

It was a very bad experience. Went on a kayak trip, and, it wasn't good. First, I wasn't allowed to take a chair and had to sit in the sand. Christine said no. But while sitting in the sand, trying to get up, I fell, sprained my knee. Then, when I said to Christine that I had to go back to the dock asap, all she was worried about was her kayak and how she'd have to haul it back to shore from the island. Christine even stated to me that I wasn't allowed to go on someone else's boat and that I had to kayak back. I told her again that I couldn't because I sprained my knee from that fall. But, no concern. I even had to ask to get help to roll my tent. No one was compassionate about me, including Christine. Also, no one from the group, including Christine, even thought to help me carry my items to the boat that I hailed to take me off the islaned. Everyone, including Christine, just went back to making their morning coffee and left me to carry my items alone to the waiting boat. The captain of the boat saw my wound and said I had to go back quickly. Afterwards, Christine didn't even contact me to make sure I was okay. My knee is now bandaged up. So, the least I can ask for is a refund. I'm very disappointed about how I was treated, and I definitely will not recommend this company. 1 star. No, 0 stars. Post note: Requested a refund and was asked why. Seriously? After this terrible experience and you refuse to refund me? Terrible company so I recommend everyone to use a...

Ughhh. I had one of the worst days of my life in so long because of her.My friend and I were on vacation on St Pete’s and on our first day here we decided to go kayaking with her company. We booked ahead of time, paid before the service and arrived at the area way ahead of time. We walked for over 30 minutes looking for the pier due to the lack of parking and by the time she has sent us her exact location and told us there was parking available we were almost thirty minutes away from our car. They left without letting us know and we found out when we were asking for more directions. She refused to give us our money back or let us come back a different day. She would not sympathize with us or understand where we came from. After that we spent a huge sum of our time trying to find our car because we had walked so much. She stole our money and used our lack of knowledge of this city against us. She is so insensitive and all she cares about is her business. If you are a tourist I would NOT RECOMMEND this woman to you. Try your best to find a different company and pay after the services or after you...

I had the most wonderful experience camping & kayaking Bahia Honda in the FL Keys with Wandering Adventures! The accommodations were perfect…a spot directly in front of where we could put kayaks in the water and the cutest campsite you could imagine. Definitely not rough camping with plenty of facilities very close with showers and bathrooms. Nearby bike rental companies will drop off e-bikes to your campsite and exploring the state parks on bike experience was almost as amazing as the kayaking experience. Christine & her crew were amazing guides as we explored the local nature scene and we even got to experience Key West on the inaugural Jimmy Buffet Day. She had fresh coffee brewed to start each morning and introduced us to the fun of a moonlit bike ride to the beach to see the amazing expansive starlit night sky over the water. Highly recommend for a comfortable and enjoyable camping/kayaking/biking adventure! Looking forward to adventuring with Christine…and Indy…again!

Absolutely Incredible Kayak Tour Experience! I can’t say enough good things about this guided kayak tour—it was the highlight of our trip! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized and thoughtfully executed. Our guide was not only super knowledgeable about the local wildlife and history, but also made the whole experience fun, relaxed, and safe for everyone, no matter their skill level. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking. Gliding through waters surrounded by lush greenery and spotting birds and fish made it feel like we were in a nature documentary. The pace was just right—enough adventure to be exciting, but still peaceful and serene. The equipment was top-notch and well maintained, and there were plenty of opportunities to take photos, ask questions, or just soak in the beauty around us. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a complete beginner, this tour is a must-do. Highly, highly recommend—can’t wait to do it again.
