If you've found yourself here at this location, in Pueblo Supermarket, you've walked past all the constructed tourist mall shops, and headed into the "regular" streets with the locals... you'll notice right away some of the "in-your-face poverty" that you hear about in certain remote areas of the world, while still being a popular tourist destination...
keep that in mind when assessing the area or availability of certain products here... several homeless people with collected bags of goods, hover around this location, it is indeed dirty...
however, if you're looking for a great grocery store to stock up on items you may not want to pay for on the cruise ship, this is the place to do it...
a trained eye can immediately notice this store is a lifeline for locals, and thusly, realize this supermarket does indeed raise prices to take advantage of the consistent demand, and, keep in line with up-charged items on visiting cruise ships... don't let that dissuade you from supporting this local venue, its the only place, walking distance from the ship, to find a well-stocked, and fresh food...

We stayed in St. Thomas 6-1-25 through 6-5-25. We came to this grocery store about three times. On our last night, we purchased a generic version of Hamburger Helper. When we grabbed the box off shelf, we noticed a little black bug on it. I put it back and grabbed another box and went to pay. Once we got home and I was preparing our last dinner there, I opened the box only to find it full of those little black bugs. I threw it on the counter and my boyfriend immediately grabbed it and took it out of our rental. Since we were leaving the next morning we did not have time to stop by to inform them to check their store items.
**Edit: In the image of the counter, I had sprayed bleach to try and kill the little bugs. That was before it was thrown out. The second image is the receipt and grocery bag which was also full of bugs. Everything...
Read moreIt can't compare to huge, Stateside supermarkets, but it has the basics. Orange juice and milk are frequently on sale, so I usually buy them here. For those staying at Frenchman's Cove, it's probably the most convenient option.
They have added grab and go salads, rotisserie chickens, and sandwiches, and they are tasty and a great value compared to most other places. Salads and sandwiches start at $3.99, but they sell out quickly and selection varies.
Very popular for locals getting their breakfasts and lunches to go, and they sell out every day so get there early for either meal. Store opens by 7.
The checkout ladies are super sweet - take time to listen to them interact with frequent customers. Very warm and caring.
Decent prices on liquor though may not be...
