Wink Optics is not just a place to get eyewear; it's a fun experience. I’ve been shopping at Wink Optics for roughly 10 years. I buy several pairs of glasses each year. From the moment you step through the door, you’ll find an incredible selection of eyewear that caters to every taste and style. Personally, I love their bold statement pieces, however, if you gravitate toward more reserved glasses, there are plenty of options for you.

What truly sets Wink Optics apart is the personalized service provided by the owner, Frank, along with Jenny and Patrick. All three go above and beyond to ensure that you not only find the perfect frames but also receive top-notch care while you are there. I love to try on the pairs the team picks out for me. They each seem to have a very good sense of the frames that complement your features or match your personality and style. I've also brought in sunglasses purchased from Europe and Wink was able to swap out the lenses with prescription lenses.

I love supporting our local business, especially the ones in downtown San Anselmo. The positive energy at Wink Optics is infectious. Frank, Jenny, and Patrick's enthusiasm for what they do is palpable, and their genuine love for their customers shines through whenever I’m there. They will make you laugh, and you will leave feeling good about yourself.

One of the times I was in the store, I was amazed to meet a couple from Oakland who said they drive the long distance because they don’t know of another eye glass store with a better selection.

I’ll just end by saying that Frank buys champagne for the town when the streets are closed to traffic in the summer. This place is BY FAR the best optic/sunglass store Marin has to offer!!!!!! (And it’s not even close). The knowledge, kindness, and hospitality of this business, are 2nd to none! I had a pair of RAEN glasses that I had broke and held on too for the past 3 years hoping someone could repair them because the company no longer made this version of them. I had been told by 3 different optic stores that they were, “unrepairable” and to start looking for a new pair. I was just about to finally throw them in the can when I thought I would try one last store, WINK OPTICS! When I arrived I was fully expecting to hear the same thing again, but to my surprise, Frank and Sammy pumped the brakes and said “let us have a look”, I had no expectations of them being able to repair them because I had been told it couldn’t be done so many times, I just thought I would give it another shot. When I came back into the store and my beauties were sitting right there, looking brand spanking new I was overcome with so much joy!!!! Smiling ear to ear I couldn’t believe it!!! They brought my favorite pair of shades BACK TO LIFE! And to top it off they cleaned my other pair while they repaired my old pair and readjusted them for me! They were so kind, so knowledgeable, and make you feel right at home. THIS is the type of BUSINESS YOU WANT TO SUPPORT! Absolutely LOVE...

I have been buying sunglasses at the Wink Optics location on San Anselmo Ave. since the 1990’s. Even when I lived in Napa, I would make the drive.

I know they’ve had different names over the years, but they have always had the same exceptional service, selection and pricing.

Today, I brought in my vintage Bausch and Lomb Ray-Bay tortoise-shell Wayfarer 5024’s to see if they could repair a missing hinge screw for one of the temple-arms. (I originally bought those Wayfarers at that location back in the early 90’s!)

The owner, Frank Gomez, was very welcoming and helpful. He explained that the vintage Bausch and Lomb’s used a proprietary screw, but he would see what he could do.

Less than 10 minutes later he came back with them, repaired and cleaned. And he explained that there was no charge for the screw/repair.

With Spring finally here if you need some new “stunna-shades,” check out Wink Optics in San Anselmo. They have a great selection of Ray Ban, Oliver Peoples, and even the new Vuarnet line. (On my list as a next pair.)
