I was looking for boots to wear at my wedding and my mother, who had offered to buy boots for me as a wedding present, passed along the name of this company Alfa Western Wear that she had seen advertised on Facebook. I checked out their website, which seemed professional and legitimate, and I was further comforted by the fact that they advertised addresses for three brick-and-mortar stores in Texas. I figured that they were a safe company to order from and their boot prices were excellent, so I ordered a pair, and I got an email confirming that my order had been received. When we ordered the boots, the website said that I could expect my order in 4 weeks. Since I was planning to wear them at my wedding, I made sure to leave plenty of time for shipping. Five weeks after I placed my order, I still had not gotten any further communication from the company, and my boots had not arrived. I tried contacting the company via email and they never responded. I tried calling the phone number on their website, and nobody picked up and their voicemail box was not set up so I was unable to leave them a message. I looked them up on Facebook and reached out to them via Facebook messenger, and finally got a response. They informed me that they would ship my order the next day. I was shocked. 5 weeks and they had not even shipped the order. I replied saying that they should cover the shipping costs since the order had been delayed so substantially. They never got back to me. I followed up a week and a half later on Facebook messenger and they would not give me a personal response, but I got an automated reply that gave information about how to place an order with them and supplied two phone numbers to reach them. Frustrated, I called the two numbers over and over again until one of the numbers texted me asking for my order number. I texted them my order number and an employee responded saying that they had just received a shipment of the design of boots that I had ordered but with a different toe style, and AGAIN said that they would ship my order the next day if I was willing to go with the style of boots that were in the shipment they had just received. I replied telling them I wanted a refund and have not heard back. I am pursuing this claim through my mother's credit card company.
I have since looked up the company on the Better Business Bureau website, and seen that they have multiple similar complaints against them, many still unresolved.
The company has also changed their website since I ordered, and the website now claims that it takes 4-8 weeks to receive your order. This was NOT the case when I ordered from them. Furthermore, the website NOW says that if you cancel your order, you forfeit 25% of the price you paid, because the website claims that the boots are custom orders - this is clearly not the case since the employee I was texting told me that they had received a shipment of boots in a different toe style and offered to ship me one of those pairs. The 25% forfeiture clause was also not listed anywhere on the website when I placed my order. Had their site disclosed these details when I was shopping their website, I would not have placed the order.
I believe this to be how they are conducting their scam. I think that they get people to place their order, it never gets delivered, and then when people call their bluff and ask for a refund, they claim that they have to forfeit 25% of what they paid for the order which is how they make...
Read moreDon't order anything from this company, 1st no communication when it comes to customer service and issues. Fake phone numbers and so-called " send us an email" and they don't get back to you. No tracking numbers given when you order and pay them. Which by the reviews is their common practice. Looking at this picture surely these shoes are 2 different sizes which 1 shoe is like an 11 and the other a 12.5 or 13. This is not what I ordered, to many games being played with this company. Which shows either they don't look at what they are shipping or they don't care and only want customers money. Pictures don't lie, worse I sent this to them picture and all but have not heard from them. AND I DONT EXPECT TO.... its a financial lost on my end. BUT HEY MAYBE THOSE THINKING ABOUT ORDERING WILL THINK TWICE ABOUT IT AND NOT COME UP SHORT LIKE I DID. Bad part about it I REALLY WANTED AND LIKED THE SHOES. But why go through so much for a piece of merchandise that comes from an unreliable source.... I SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVEIWS FROM THE START AND BELEIVED THEM....AT THE END OF THE DAY MONEY WASTED....... NOW WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH THESE MIXED MATCHED...
