They reconstructed Rio's meat market and now it it's actually pretty good. The gas right now it is about $0.20 cheaper than anybody else. I guess it's because of its grand opening. Now they have a tacaria on the left side. Food not too bad. I did go check out the prices in the meat department and when I asked the butcher how much the Ribeyes and cross cut ribs they told me it was $13.99 a pound. To me that seems very high in comparison to La Michoacana HEB or even the Thrifty Mart. I think he was just too lazy to actually check and just told me that that was the price. I don't think people like that should be working because it brings your business down. Because of him is the only reason why I didn't give a 5-star rating. But the cashier made up for the butcher's laziness. The cashier was very nice. And the day that I went I guess the owners were there doing an inspection and they were actually pretty cool. I recommend going and checking this place out support the neighborhood to community. It's right on Hutchins and Zarzamora. Give it a try and see what you think. Hopefully when you go they have a different butcher that won't give you the...
Read moreConvenient location on the northwest corner of Zarzamora and Hutchins. They are renovating now so their space outside is limited because they are installing gas pumps (about six) in front of the market. The employees attitude is very welcoming. The store is very clean on the inside. Plenty of different meat. Have good selection of spices, but because this is a meat market, the focus is on their meat selection. They do offer a small variety of cereals, drinks, cleaning supplies, and soap. Their produce is excellent. This is a combination of a meat market and one stop shop. Unfortunately I was at this business briefly or I would have taken pictures. There is also a large ice machine on the outside of the store, close to the corner and on the...
Read moreWent to order barbacoa special 4. Marked at 25.99. When going to pay the uncharged to 27.99. Ok I get it whatever I paid. I did two orders. Got home and tried the barbacoa and it tasted horrible. Tamales are good. Tortillas are good but the barbacoa was bad. Called and they said we got the wrong meat so went to the store to make it right and they only wanted to give $5 for the troubles. Not worth it and said it was the barbacoa. They Served old meat and won’t be going again. Who knows what they are selling their customers. Oh and when I went back they didn’t change the advertised price of the food to resemble the 27.99. They are skimming off people. Weird thing is that it happens to be mother day today. What...
