UPDATE: The owner, Peter Carollo, replied to me very quickly regarding my issues. Communication was above and beyond. He took care of business in a kind and professional manner but was very personable as well as he spent 30 minutes with me to remedy the glitch. Axe Master is a very clean and fun establishment to begin with and this just took the cake! Even though there was a hiccup in customer communication/ service I have to say that this owner has definitly gone above and beyond to remedy Groupon's weirdness, address with staff, and make sure that we are taken care of. That is so rare and unheard of anymore. Please don't hesitate to book with this location! Thank you!
I am so dissapointed at the moment. I hate leaving negative reviews for companies in this struggling economy, but I feel as though my hands are tied on this one. I have not been able to discover a fair or acceptable way of getting the companies attention unfortunately regarding my issue. My family and I have used this facility before and really enjoyed it. I bought my father a Groupon for his birthday and called today to make a reservation for us before it expires. I was told that all reservations had to be made on their website by attempting to book a package . I proceeded to book the reservation as instructed but found that even with the promotion code entered the package was charging me full price and taxes on the full amount. Nearly $60 more than original purchase price. I would have been embarassed and sad if my father had seen that and felt he had to pay it. I called back to the store and talked to the same young lady again and asked her to walk through the process with me, she did so kindly. However, the same issue occurred and she began to tell me that I would be responsible for the difference and then after telling her that that is not right she told me that she did not know what to do or how to fix it. I asked to talk to management or someone that could remedy this. She said that there was not anybody for me to talk to, no manager or anyone with knowledge of operations or authority. She proceeded to give me a support email. At that point I asked if there wasn't just a phone number or corporate number, something to help get resolved before we can't make weekend reservations. She replied that my only option was to email customer support and wait. So here I am hours later trying to decide whether to just have faith or call Groupon and address it. Axe Master still has additonal promotions on Groupons site and we purchased another to accomodate more people before we knew of this issue. I hope to have this remedied, but beware buying promotions. Our promotion pricing ends in four days (gifted this to Dad in February), so I am suprised that staff is not aware of how to remedy this situation after four months of others attempting to use the promotion, that makes me nervous to be honest. This place is nice, but expensive for most of us in this economy, so just beware before you attempt to use promotions. We have to drive across town to use this site, so I'm hoping that this gets remedied and I can update the review with helpful information for those that encounter this in the future as well as support for Peter Carollo and his...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA few suggestions from an outsider, but still goodā¦.. I will say that I did not actually go here but instead went to the attached spin art location. However I wanted to make a point to say that I was very proud of the employees at the ax throwing for one thing in particularā¦ā¦one of the patrons of the spin art side was not watching his/her very young children (toddler age), so the children kept wondering to the ax throwing side. At one point, one of the smallest found an ax, and the employee was quick to carefully remove it and guide the children back to the other side. Iām not sure if the employee impressed to the guardians the seriousness of not letting them walk and run around alone in a place with many real axes as well as an extremely hot dryer and large spinners that can seriously injure someone, but I at least appreciate that the employee was keeping an eye out when the kiddos were not even part of their attendees. However, I would strongly recommend that axes not be left out where someone could grab them if they are not paying for the ax payingā¦especially young children. I am pretty sure that is a huge hazard and poses liability issues. Overall though, itās a new place and from what I could see, they were doing a booming business and it honestly looked like a lot of fun. I plan to go do some axe throwing myself soon. Just a few suggestions for improvements and potential safety issues from an outside...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came here as part of a conference after-hours networking event and I look up the place to find out that it had a perfect five-star review with over 600 reviews. I couldn't believe it!! That's a unicorn on Google!! I get there and I'll be damned...it Definitely IS a five-star place! The hosts, Jazz and JJ, were Amazing!!! They are super friendly, helpful and had so much patience for the large crowd that was there. When you spoke to them they smiled at you. Jazz goes around checking on everyone to make sure they are OK and provide assistance where necessary. The place was clean, the bathrooms were stocked and clean (with funny restroom sayings on the wall LOL), and the games there was sooo much fun!!! I'm very glad I was able to experience this location and do some first time axe throwing! If you want to go and try this place out make sure to wear closed-toe shoes. You'll sign a waiver when you get there and you're all set to go! Each lane can hold up to 5 players at a time. Great way to spend the night! They sell beer, wine, and malt liquor...
