You would think someone who is a supervisor of the pool would know basic lap swim etiquette and have maybe swam before.

Three lanes are open for lap swim. The end lane is marked beginner, the other two is marked intermediate. The beginner lane has two clear beginners, maybe 2:30min/100 yard swimmers at best. The 2nd lane has a group of 3 friends lap swimming and they're pacing about 1:50min/100 yard. I'm in the 3rd lane, I'm no fast swimmer by any mean but I'm clearly the faster of the bunch at a mere 1:40min/100 yard. A beginner swimmer joins my lane, no big deal, what else is she going to do, make the beginner lane crowded with 3 people? We split the lane, we don't disturb each other's workout. Another beginner comes, he's standing around not sure which lane to go in. Here comes the supervisor, tells him to go into my lane. Why would you add someone that can barely make it across the pool, into a lane that already has two completely mismatched swimmers? Would it not make sense to tell him to join that beginner lane, the other 2 people who is swimming the same pace as this guy? Why would you put someone slow inside a lane with another slow person and a 3rd person that is significantly faster? Now both these people are waiting every lap for me to pass them because they feel bad for blocking up the lane. It's not their fault for being slow, and being beginners they probably don't understand why this is an issue, but that's what the staff is for.

It gets even worse when the lap swimmers don't let you pass and you're treading behind them and still going faster. Again, this issue probably isn't even crossing the beginner's mind because they don't know etiquette, but the staff should. Mind you, this is not the first time this has happened here. But when the pool gets super full, it's just unlucky. But this was the first time I've seen a supervisor directly tell someone to do this type of crap behavior. I can see why the lifeguards never try to manage the swimmers that's clearly causing traffic jams, if the supervisor doesn't care why would the staff care?

If this was a free pool, then so be it, but I'm paying just like everyone else. At best this is incompetence, at worst you guys are creating a dangerous environment for swimming by putting mismatched speed swimmers together to cause a...

Not sure why people complain about the contract when you're allowed to read it before signing.

To me, it's not really a "gym", it feels more like a community center with solid fitness amenities: indoor/outdoor pool, track, studio rooms, basketball court (also used for volleyball and pickleball), and a weight room. Hence the name "Rec and Aquatic center".

What I like: indoor/outdoor pools have set times for lap/open swim splash pad is great for kids, no deeper than 1 ft in the deepest part Multi-use court for basketball, pickleball, volleyball Weight room has machines for major muscle groups and dumbbells (up to 50lbs) Friendly staff and clean facilities Studio rooms with mirrors for classes/stretching Indoor track is great for jogging and has space for bodyweight exercises

What I tolerate: Idk if this is their job or not, but lifeguards don’t enforce swim lane speeds when it's busy Track is best for light jogs, not sprints or trying to PR mile. The turns are not "sharp", but the faster you run the more effort you put in to slow down Weight room is beginner-friendly but limited in equipment and weight, dumbbells only up to 50lbs so you can't really test your strength here.

I want to give a higher rating. Facility is great. The front staff is great and the employees are generally good. Heres some problems. It FEELS that it mat be over crowded especially the basketball court. As in im not sure all these people are actually paying to use the facility like the rest of us do. Could be wrong. Last time I went swimming there were 10 life guards. They immediately told me not tontake the kid with a life jacket in the deep end. Fine its the rules. Other people are wrestling in the “kids” part making it unsafe for young kids to play. People wearing street clothes in the pool. Then go inside a guy comes straight from the gym sweating takes off his shoes and socks and walks right into the kids part of the pool. All 10 life guards watched this happen and said nothing. It kind of makes you sick when basic sanitation rules arent followed when you pay to use a facility that can afford 10 lifeguards on duty at any given time. And the rules arent followed clearly posted. So it just seems we are paying for a service where no one wants to take accountability for the most basic of things to keep the place suitable for kids and family and the riff raff can do...
