I went to peninsula gymnastics when I was maybe 5-7 years old. I had been at the gym for quite a while now and had a very nice coach named Xavier that taught me before the person I’m about to talk about. Nelia (that’s probably not how it’s spelled but that’s how it’s pronounced) is a Russian coach that constantly reminded me of how I wasn’t as good as the other girls in my class. She finally actually paid attention to me when I told her I was leaving the gymnasium. She was extremely hard on me as a child. I hated my experience as I felt I was never good enough which influenced me deeply today, as I still think I’m not good enough.
