Bober Tea & Coffee is a solid choice for a boba fix. Their online ordering system is super convenient - you can skip the line and just grab your drink when you arrive. The process is secure; they ask for your name and confirmation email to ensure you're getting the right order.
While it wasn't busy during my visit, having to provide all that information felt a bit much for a non-crowded situation, especially since my name isn't super common. However, it's a minor detail, and the upside of online ordering definitely outweighs it. They only have limited indoor seating despite the big indoor space.
Now, onto the good stuff - the drinks! I tried the Chizu Milk Tea with 75% sugar, and it was delicious. The milk tea itself was perfectly brewed, and the 75% sugar level hit the spot – not too sweet but still satisfying. The only minor drawback was the excessive amount of ice. A little less ice would have made it perfect.
On the plus side, parking was a breeze - free street parking right around the shop. Overall, Bober Tea & Coffee gets a 4-star rating. Great boba, convenient online ordering, and easy parking make it a solid choice. Just be mindful of the ice content when...
Read more03.09.2024. I went for the grand opening because it was buy-one-get-one-free drinks. I've been to bober before (once at the palo alto location) so I was interested to see what the differences were. Definitely an aesthetic boba place. All drinks (for the grand opening) were bogo, no limits on how many drinks each person could get. There were four options for the free drink: chizu pink pear, pink haze (a hazelnut drink), wintermelon, and taro. There was a long wait for drinks because I believe they were still training new people. I got the supreme mango green tea (+3.50 for the surprise cup) (+0.80 lychee jelly) 10.80. It took me about 45 min to get my drink. And then they asked me what free drink I'd like, so that took a bit longer. I think that's fine for an opening weekend, even though I was a bit pressed for time. Overall, the mango green tea was yummy. Nice and fresh with mango bits. More mango than green tea but yummy. 4/5 The pear chizu was interesting. Like a yakult version of a fruity drink. I thought it was refreshing but not my favorite. I don't think I would get this one again but...
Read moreThe atmosphere is amazing and aesthetic. The menu is posh. I ordered a rose latte, but what struck me is that in none of their drinks I could adjust sugar. Yes, you nailed it, sugar is addictive. Hence the rise of boba. But if you go for such delicate fancy menu items and interior designs, should not you consider that sugar is also killing the delicacy of other ingredients, what's the point then. My latte was overwhelmingly sweet. All I tasted was sugar, I couldn't drink it . I wish the cafe of such kind had a consideration for people who are health conscious or people who are foodies and cannot be blinded by fancy names and pictures, they want "rose" to taste like a rose and...
