8/24/2025--First time appointment with Cheng today for a bleach, tone, and cut--10/10!

I have long hair, naturally black but I've been coloring it a "peach milk tea" for over 1 year now. Went in for an all-over bleach, tone & cut and Cheng took care of me in 4 hours. Not bad honestly since in-between appointments I use a brown wella color mask which left behind red visible once we started the bleach.

I booked online and went in knowing exactly what I wanted with pictures for reference. I would recommend this for anyone who is a native English speaker (or just doesn't speak or understand Mandarin) since when I was there in-person there was a lot of Google Translate happening 😅

One caution though, do NOT come here expecting a great hair wash experience. While Cheng was applying product and my hair processed I watched the gal (I think there is only one woman working at this location) wash 3 customers' hair and every single one ended up with the upper back of their top soaking wet. Inevitably she washed mine, and this happened to me too 😭 I took off the wet button-up since I had it layered on top of a dress, and she dried it for me. She is also rough on the scalp and got shampoo, water, and toner all up in my ears. I know other people that come here, and said they shared the...

I've been around several barber shop in the Linda Vista area and became so frustrated at the low quality these barbers think they could get away with just because their clients are kids. As a mom, I feel taken advantage of simply because I am a woman.

I decided to switch it up and explore in the Kearney Mesa area. I am glad I did because for the same price, Cheng treated my boys just like any well paying customers that deserve an excellent quality haircut. My boys' hair turned out to be amazingly good!
