I’ve been going to AO Nails for the past year and absolutely LOVE how impeccable and beautiful my nails look every time. I’ve gotten Apres Gel X, regular gel, and always get custom nail designs with them. This last time I got my nails done by Ella who did such an amazing job on my nails and the design I wanted. I received SO MANY compliments and they make me feel stunning, beautiful, and classy. Ella and all the nail technicians are thorough, detailed, and make sure your nails look great throughout the process. This design and look took about 2.5hrs so if you’re looking to get gel x with a custom design, be prepared to spend time and money. My set was $170 (not including tip), but I feel like it’s worth every dollar especially when your nails make you feel like a divine goddess and you receive tons of compliments. If you plan on getting custom nail designs with apres gel x, this salon is the place to go. They’re consistent, safe with your nails, and do an amazing job. Be sure to make an appointment in advance and have a picture of the custom design you’re looking to get since it helps them calculate how much time and design work will be needed.

I also appreciate how relaxing and quiet their space is since it is appointment only and you don’t get any spontaneous walk-ins that disrupt the ambience. Original Review: I immensely hope to change this yelp review after receiving my (now rescheduled) appointment on July 5th. I don't live in San Diego, but I travel here for work often. After spending a copious amount of time researching a nail and eyelash service salon with good reviews that was open late, I found this salon. I submitted an inquiry on Yelp and was instructed to call and make an appointment and immediately did. The person I spoke with sounded very accommodating and understanding and set me up with an appointment for today, 7/3 at 6:30pm. I left work early and drove 15 minutes and walked into the salon to find out my appointment was never set and turned away . Under typical circumstances, I would be disappointed but totally understand. We're all human, we make mistakes!

But unfortunately in my case, it really inconveniences me because I am working pretty non-forgiving hours (7am-9pm) with no days off besides a half day today and the 4th for the next two weeks. I'm super bummed and was really looking forward to some time to rejuvenate. Fingers crossed my appointment goes well, I really hate giving bad reviews and want to give the benefit of the doubt for...

It was really easy to book an appointment via Yelp. The owner was very responsive and he was able to schedule me the next day. As you could imagine, I was pleased and excited for my appointment. HOWEVER, as I got to my appointment, they informed me that a previous appointment was 45 minutes late and asked that I wait for an hour before they could take me. EXCUSE ME?! I drive all the way from La Mesa and organized my day to make this appointment. I could not believe the poor organization of their scheduling and the audacity to ask that I come back an hour later when THEY accepted my appointment! I don’t think I should have my appointment knocked back just because the previous person couldn’t arrive on time. They could have handled the situation differently.

In times of COVID and lock down on businesses, you’d think they’d be starving for new customers. Well, they lost me.
