Hauser's Patio — Local services in San Diego

We came to Hauser’s Patio to get some swivel/rocker chairs fitted with new slings. We had done this work ourselves in the past, but it is very hard work, and easy to damage the chairs. I chose and bought slings from a different supplier online, but Hauser’s were very happy to work with these.

The first thing that I loved was the pricing. Pickup and delivery of 6 chairs for only $95. Then fitting the slings was $60 per chair. When we did the work ourselves, it took at least 3 hours per chair for 2 people (unskilled, but with the right tools – stretcher bar etc) working on it. So, $60 per chair seemed very fair.

Jesus and Nathan came to pick up the chairs. They wanted to come earlier than our original appointment, but they were very good about communicating and working with our schedule. They were very careful, friendly and respectful of our property. They were also very helpful in making suggestions for any future repairs that we may need. They got work on the chairs as soon as they got back to their workshop.

I called Hauser’s a couple of days after the pick up, to check on my understanding of the pricing. I was greeted by a very friendly voice (Jeremy) and given confirmation of the pricing, plus an update on the progress. Nathan was working on our project, and was almost done. I was amazed! It turns out that the friendly voice belongs to the owner – not often that the owner answers the phone in a business like this. Kudos to him.

A day or so later, our chairs were returned to us. Pricing was exactly as quoted, with a few extras for replacement of broken plastic parts. Excellent service. The chairs will probably need recoating in the near future and the delivery guys were able to give us a very rough estimate of how much that would cost for aluminum powder coating. Really good service all around, and we are very happy...

We were shopping for a cantilever patio umbrella but uncertain as to the appropriate size or shape. Elsa Hodges assisted us in the showroom showing us various sizes and shapes, manufacturers, and pointing out warranties and quality of the options available. She also inquired where we lived saying that coastal locations were far more vulnerable to wind and salt damage. We also discussed stand options and again Elsa and the Hauser staff were quite helpful in identifying the best option for our installation/use.

We shopped around at other patio stores and online. There are definitely less expensive options but the trade off is in the quality and warranties offered as well as availability of the product we were interested in having on our patio.

We purchased a Franklin 11' octagonal umbrella and stand. this particular umbrella comes with high grade marine fabric with a 10 year guarantee. The umbrella frame/mechanism comes with a 5 year guarantee, the finishes with a 3 year warranty, and the base comes with a 1 year warranty. The umbrella also has a wind stabilizer bar for days when the winds are above 15 mph (not days we would likely use the umbrella anyway). And, the umbrella comes with a storage cover too. This manufacturer is definitely at the higher end of residential umbrella choices.

The product was in stock and was delivered and set up within a few days (timing and our schedule were issues for us). Once the umbrella was assembled, the two installers showed us how to open/close the umbrella, pointed out general maintenance issues we should be mindful of, and outlined recommended procedures for storing the umbrella out of season.

All-in-all, Hauser's provided excellent, no-pressure, assistance and delivered an excellent product on time and...

Jesus has been fabulous to work with and personally delivered the new tables and umbrellas and set them up. They are definitely our preferred vendor. We will be going to them for additional new furniture in 2024.
