This is by far my favorite park to visit in San Diego! I know it's shiny and new, but it is so much more than that! The place is swamped from open to close, but with all the different options for kiddos to play on, it's never a battle or even a risk of growing impatient. I'm not sure about others, but my husband and I have 4 kiddos, and all we can do is follow them as they just explore tirelessly all that there is to offer. My kiddos are obsessed with the zipline swing, the cool rolling slides, the carousel type spinning devices, the wild designs of just random things to climb on, jump from, swing on and slide down. This is a kiddos' dreamland and parents too, saying as it is free! There are a couple of vendors that walk around and drive you crazy with their bells, but they come in handy when your children are randomly starving and only ice cream or cheetos can cure their ill. The water is right behind the park, so be sure to keep an eye out, or you may be having an impromptu day of swimming as well. The restrooms are nearby, clean, and stocked. Read moreJust opened, it is a brand new setup with a variety of equipment for kids and adults. One area is clearly signposted designed for children 13+, but almost all parents decided not to follow this, so children and adults end up next to each other. This makes for a somewhat dangerous situation. Four year olds next to 180lb+ men doing gymnastics, matter of time before a child gets hurt.
Finally, short amount of time until idiots decided it was a great idea to pull out their giant speaker and start blasting music in front of the playground. I had to politely turn off the speaker, and then inform them that this is a public playground, and not their home. If they argued with me the speaker was going to end up in pieces.
If you want to blast music do it in your living room IDIOTS, not in a public area where people are trying to enjoy their space. Room temp IQ neanderthals with speakers love to ruin the beach, hiking areas and now public playgrounds.
Turn off the speaker idiot. Nice...
Read moreTecolote North Playground in Mission Bay San Diego CA is a brand new playground with 4 sections - a kids playground, toddler playground, fitness section with rope climbing monkey bars and nets to climb. It has a lot of open space which is perfect for birthday parties and a beautiful view of the bay. The only downside is that parking is limited, and if you park on the street you must reverse back into your spot or you may be cited by the SDPD parking enforcement. Additionally, there is no restroom at the playground. Overall, Tecolote North Playground is a great spot for the little...
