I'm quite disappointed with my haircut, as a tourist who gonna take many pictures in California and my hairs going to look a little weird entire time. I told them that my hair is very thick and sticks out very easily, but they did not consider my word, and as a result, my hair on top doesn't look naturally connected with my side. Some good things about this salon, the barber was kind and nice. Also, she was fine with cutting my hair like the picture that I provided (she just not considered my word about characteristics of my hair). Haircut is fairly cheap ($35 for men's haircut) compared to other salons in California. So give it a try if you want. I might just be a one unlucky guy at the wrong place at the wrong time, or it might be a barber's skill issue with Asian male hair. Just warning you, let them understand your word...

My wife and (now adult) children as well as many of our friends (at least three other families) have been coming to Charlie for about 20 years. He used to work at his own salon then at another salon on Convoy but has recently moved to this salon, renting a space. Charlie is just fantastic. He was apparently a well known hairstylist in South Korea before coming to the US. I hardly know the other hairstylists (~ 5 in all) and I believe all five are Asians, and the clientele is predominantly Asians as well. I recommend (other than his not very good English) Charlie for your hairstyling needs without reservations, especially if you have straight hair. He is accommodating, easy to schedule, and his charges are very reasonable. The salon is clean...

The stylist kept chatting with other staff before and during my haircut, showing little focus on the task. The result? My hair was completely ruined. I only wanted a simple men’s haircut, but here’s what I ended up with:

The right side was supposed to be straight from the ear to the top, but it wasn’t even symmetrical to the left side. She cut off my hair curtain on the right side entirely—and she knew it. To cover up the mistake, she left a much longer section of hair nearby, hoping to disguise the issue. She styled it with wax right afterward, making it seem fine.
